Service star/stop again. Deleting aux battery but have a question

I’ve seen videos on removing battery neg cable from main battery. But if I’m correct the newer models have the thicker and thinner cable swapped locations? So the thinner on my 2021 with prod date of 12/20 has the thinner attached with the L bracket. And id rather not lose that bracket since I attach to that ground stud. I’m thinking when I go and actually remove the aux battery I’ll reconnect the cable at the main battery and just wrap up the one underneath. or did I altogether just remove the wrong cable 🫢 I did test and everything turns on fine and service start/stop is gone.
I’ll be picking up a new battery tomorrow or ordering from Amazon but I kind of want to deal with an actual box store for easier warranty issues. My gladiator is what four years old now and only has 17k miles on it. I didn’t drive it for three weeks and it was dead.

The average life expectancy of batteries in the JT is about three years. They degrade quicker if not kept charged, especially as they age. I would recommend a battery maintainer if not regularly driven.

Walmart is probably the best deal if you want a local retailer. The 94R AGM is about $175 with a four year warranty.

I don't really see the advantage, but if you are going to delete the Aux Battery I would recommend leaving all the wiring intact. Just remove the Aux Battery and insulate the cable ends. Tape and Zip Tie the cables together offset, so the ends will not touch, and just leave them hanging in the plastic box.

Having aftermarket liners already made life simpler

another thing that I don’t know the reasoning…. They say to take the positive connection from aux battery and route it back up to the main . I did it but don’t know why I have to when others leave it connected to aux battery without a ground wire. Aux battery without the ground is just a battery without a completed connection. I still have to go to Walmart to pick up a battery so we’ll see.
