Hi all!

Recently picked up a 2021 Willy`s JT. My first Jeep, and a SIGNIFICANT upgrade over my 06 Dakota.
Ive been lurking this forum for a while now, its been a great source of information, so I thought I`d
say hi, thank you, and start a thread!

So far I have done a few little upgrades (locking hood latches, locking gas cap, Tonneau cover, etc)
but the only major upgrade I have done is the Alpine PSS-23WRA subwoofer / amplifier install.

I have quite the shopping list to work through, suspension bumpers etc, but already loving this truck.

What locking hood latches did you go with? I've been looking at a few options online and would be interested to hear your experience.

@jtimbrook - Glad somebody recognized it!

@Caraholic - Rockin the fake tree this year. Id like to get a permit and cut down my own one of these days, but with the fires this year think ill hold off.

@AZJT - Here is the link to the ones I got. Im actually really happy with them. Ive been on two road trips, including the off-road trip you see in the picture there, and havent had any issues with them. I didnt have to fiddle with them to align them, they didnt damage the paint or anything. I re-used the nuts from the OEM latches and put a few dabs of blue loctite on them.

Welcome! Sharp Jeep, and great picture.

Have fun with the modding. I told myself I was going to take it slowly...but yeah, that didn't last too long. Jeeps will do that to you.

@jtimbrook Ride on man, thank you! Its been years since I ran through a proper D&D campaign, I think my last one 3.5 was still new.. Unfortunately these days, just dont have the time.

@CrazyCooter thanks man! Own some property up in the state of jefferson, hoping to build it up and retire there. Norcal proper is a totally different state than what you see on the news.

@jurfie thanks man! That was my first dedicated OHV trip, im officially hooked.

@Caraholic oh boy, Polaris is on the toy list for sure... gotta finish the truck and the boat first..

@AZJT I actually saw these hood latches recommended by another user in a thread somewhere here on the board, if they start giving me trouble ill be sure to let yall know.

@TheHops no kidding man. I stopped riding motorcycles after one too many crashes. Needed another money pit.. and here we are haha.

Put a new Grille in last night. Went with one from a brand called Dirty Acres, based out of Texas. I think it looks pretty good, but Id like it to be wider.. there is room for another inch of material on each side, and it would be a lot more secure (as its held by tension).

Im probably going to remove it and cut slits in it with a dremel, so I can use the original retaining features and clips that held the oem grille inserts, that way it will be nice and snug in there, and it will sit flush against the grille panel.

Pulled the halogen headlight bulbs out and swapped em for some LED bulbs while I had the panel off, easy access to pull the headlights so why not. They seem to be working fine so far, will get a feel for them this evening.

Got a set of Interior Molle Panels from JCR Offroad during their black friday sale.
These guys mount at the C-Pillar area, near the rear seatbelts. Passenger side went in as-is.
Quick release fire extinguisher bracket I ordered wouldnt line up with the molle pattern, so drilled a hole in the driver side molle panel, mounted the bracket, and then installed the molle panel to the jeep. Pretty happy with it.
