I never said they were not good. I said SDi and Fox are good stuff.
I said if someone is getting custom valved shocks to tell the tuner what springs they have because rebound valving is dependent on spring rate.
I specifically didn't recommend one over the other.
I agree with that for Fox and king, or any traditional setup. But I’ve very quickly found that to not be required with Eclik. I have a total Frankenstein setup with different and weird springs front and rear. I’ve been able to adjust the shocks to be perfect for my jeep specifically. I’m absolutely convinced that I could put them on a jeep with totally different springs, and have it ride perfectly in 5 minutes of messing with them, from inside the cab.

My point with valving is that it needs to be close before you can fine tune with adjusters. Some adjusters are orifice based, some are check valve with spring based, etc .. I have not seen any shock that had external nitrogen pressure adjustments, not even sure how that could be done.

Ima start off and say I have no intention in my jeep riding like a Cadillac and I know it never will lol. But I have a Mojave with a 3-3.5 JKS lift with the factory fox 2.5 shocks and there not cutting it anymore. I’m trying to achieve a better ride with having improved off-roading capabilities. This is my daily driver but I love to off road whenever I can. I do live in Florida so there’s not many rock or hill climbs around, But I do go to off road parks with rough sandy roads and some man made climbs. I’d just love some suggestions, I’ve been eyeing the king 2.5 remote reservoir and I looked around at the bilstein 5160-8100. The falcon 3.3 caught my attention but I’ve seen very mixed reviews, so it’s left me very undecided. Anything helps thank you.
With what little knowledge I have, I went from stock Mojave IB Fox to Fox 2.5 DSC Elite shocks for my 3.5 COR lift. At first they were a much harsher ride on the street. After many adjustments and tire pressure settings I was still unhappy. I called Fox to discuss my disappointment and to get some recommendations. I think I would have been more satisfied with the Fox 3.0 IB for street driving and wash-board roads given they have a ride zone to compensate the road chatter. The 3.0’s IB have less travel than the 2.5 DSC’s

On my first desert trip, I aired the tires down from 32 to 25 psig. Wheeled all day long down huge whooped-out roads, sandy roads and rocky hill climbs. The 2.5 DSC’s were great. Still a little rough compared to what I had but my speed was a good pace. I was amazed at how well they soaked up the whoop sections. I drove home with 25 psig and have not to increased the tire air pressure. Long story short, I am satisfied with the 2.5 DCS’s.

Another thing to remember when you get new shocks, they will break in some. My rear 2.5 Elites were a little stiff at first, after like 2k they felt better. But that is just because the piston band breaks in some and the tolerance between the band and the body gets looser..
I haven't had any issues with my 2.5 Elites, they were the right price for me. I think the Falcons are probably good too, I just don't like that I can't get parts for them that is why I didn't buy them. If SDi made normal shocks at the same price as the Fox I probably would have bought them. But I am kind of glad they don't. I would have had SDi send out all the bodies for Kashima coat and had all the shafts DLC coated, and that would have been big bucks ?

They are used a lot in the trophy truck world, which is ultimately what Jeep was mimicking with the Mojave. I have a Stage 6 Icon lift on my Rubicon. It rides nice enough on the pavement, it is impressive running washboard trails at 35 and I've had no issue playing in the rocks either. I'll admit I'm no shock tuning expert but they certainly feel better under my JTR than my AEV DualSport XT with Bilsteins does under my 2016 JKUR.

Non believer. I get it. If you ever get the chance to checkout a Jeep with them installed, mine included, I think you’d be impressed.

Not many (1k miles or so - they’re new), but they estimate not needing a rebuild for 80k miles. And they are above and beyond Fox and king 2.5 options put together. And you don’t need to choose what length shock. They’re changeable with three internal clip positions, so you can use them on a large range of lift heights without forklifting them or needing shock to extensions.

Your on road manners are not going to improve with an antirock sway bar- check out ORO SwayLoc if you are looking for improved on road, and the same if not better off road handling to antirock.

Are you on factory control arms?. Spoke my peace on shocks above. Based on what you are describing sand being sandy beaches and rough roads falcons would likely make you happy at 1/2-1/3 of the cost to hydro bumps and bypass 8100’s.
Yes I’m still running the factory control arms. Been debating getting adjustable ones.
