At $200/ hour makes my rate sound reasonable lol! Better jump on it before they raise it!$195/hour at a shop near me in Golden, CO.
Heard a rumor that another popular 4x4 shop in Englewood, CO is at $200/hour, but I don’t know that for sure as I’ve never had work done there.
$175/hour in central Texas. I do all my own work these days. The money you save will outfit your tool collection nicely.
I agree with both statements completely. However my business is so slammed right now with no signs of slowing which has me working 6 days a week (It’s a good thing for sure). The one day I have off, Sunday, (at least during the day) is my time with my family. Only day I get with them is valuable time for me! A lot of days I am gone before my kids wake up and don’t get home until they are asleep so I don’t want to spend that time on projects.$200 an hour here. ??even with the disposable cash to have someone do it…. It’s easier to justify the next mod when you eat the work yourself.
When things break in the field, it’s a hell of a time to try and figure out how it was assembled… This new JT/JL platform is different in so many little ways from previous generations that going through the hassle in the garage installing things, allows for those quirks to be sorted within close beer fridge proximity…. Not trying to figure it out laying on rocks in the middle of nowhere. Also makes putting together spare parts/trail repairs parts kits easier to sort.
I get that these are just steps….. but still.
I understand completely. Maybe at some point you can get your kids to "help" with some of your projects for family time. Family time is important and the days go quick before the kids are out of the house.I agree with both statements completely. I was just curious what other guys were seeing as shop rates. Based off the responses I don’t have anything to complain about. Chances are I will pay it but still stings!
In all disclosure I could do the install of the steps and lift and a few other things but with my availability it may take me 6 months with the JT down that whole time. Plus the way I do things it’s usually 2 steps forward and 4 steps back lol! I always seem to screw it up Several times Which adds significant time to the project.
My H-D dealer is $160 per hr. It was probably 2005 since they were closer to $145.Wow it’s been a while since I had a shop install mods on a vehicle but datum $145 is up there from last time! Is that on par with what you guys are seeing!?
