would you say they flashed or blinked?
It flashed but cycled through the left hand lights to the right hand. Look like disco / fun lights. I checked to make sure a tazer minis not attached and couldn’t see one. Thanks for asking.

You probably didn’t look in the right spot. A lot of people hide them where they’re not easily seen.

What is this “recovery protocols” that you were practicing?

I don’t have keyless entry on my jeep, but in my Toyota I’ve definitely pressed the “lock” button on my key fob by accident before while in the vehicle and it was running. The car locks the doors for a sec, and then unlocks them, accompanied by the turn signals flashing (like a regular lock/unlock visual indicator). Maybe something similar with the Jeep key fob?

I know the hazard lights come on automatically when the hood is open and engine is running. This happens when I am inflating my tires after coming off the sand.
It’s not the hood or engine that does this. It’s the tire inflation assist that flashes the lights when one of the tires reaches its set point.

Once I work it out I will post the reason. I wish I could attach the video of what I’m trying to work out as it may help but it stops rendering at 99%
Post to YouTube and then link here.

Unless I missed it, the OP hasn't mentioned if the Jeep was purchased new or used? If new, it's pretty unlikely a dealer installed one before it left the lot.

If used, it's certainly easy enough to see if any of the Tazer's live features are present to verify if there is one or not.

Does your Gladiator remember the state of the auto start/stop or traction control? If you turn them off, will they still be off next time you start the engine, or do they automatically default back to ON every time?

Good to know. I knew something in the process triggered it. Learn something new every day. Thanks.

I read that in the manual when I found out it had the inflation assistance. I used it for a while so it would beep the horn, but now I just watch the pressure screen. I like the blinking though.

Hey there. I’m trying to understand why my turn signal lights simultaneously are flashing. I’m was on the beach in 4WL practicing recovery protocols. Thanks Mike

sorted: apologies if I wasted anyone’s time. Thank you for all those who offer up ideas. In the end AI through ChatGPT provided the breakthrough. 👍🏻👍🏻

“Yes, when you video LED lights, they often appear to flicker or flash—but this is usually an effect of the camera, not the lights themselves.

Why does this happen?
  • LEDs pulse rapidly (called PWM – Pulse Width Modulation) to control brightness or power efficiency.
  • Camera frame rates (like 30 or 60 fps) may not sync with the LED pulsing frequency, causing a flickering effect in the video.
Will you see it with the naked eye?

No—LED headlights in cars like the Jeep Gladiator won’t flicker to your eyes, only to a camera with mismatched frame rate/shutter speed.

If you’re filming and want to avoid the flicker, try:
  • Adjusting your camera’s shutter speed to match the LED frequency.
  • Using manual exposure settings rather than auto.

I'm looking back at your first post and I don't see any mention of filming. Could you point out where that was discussed? It feels like we weren't given the full picture.

Wait all this was because you saw a video or picture of your jeep? You didn’t get out and actually look at the lights to see if they were doing what you saw in the pic/vid??

close the thread.
