Up until this post I had no idea they still made Slick 50.
Seriously! I can't believe that stuff is still around. What about Dura-Lube? Maybe they became the same company? They both made outrageous claims that were proven to be completely false.

My biggest problem with the leaning tower of no power was that they wouldn't die. I bought a '68 Dart with a 225, and my intention was to replace the failed /6 with a hopped up 360. The 225 was actually a strong running /6 in this Dart, so I began a program of severe abuse to kill it since I didn't want to pull a running engine out.

After three months, the 225 still lived, but I had destroyed the three on the tree and put in another three speed manual transmission and converted to a floor shift. I finally gave up on killing the /6 and pulled it out and put it outside to hopefully fill up with rainwater and rust solid.
I put the 360 in the Dart and I left the /6 laying outside. Last I heard, someone claimed it for some use. The Dart probably has gone onto it's reward after a racing career, I don't know. This was all about 40 years ago.
Here's a couple slant 6's still going strong. The black Dart and Cherry Valiant belong to my two grandsons. The Valiant has dual carbs and dual exhausts. The Swinger with 340 is my daughter's. My son in law just picked up the '65 Cuda 318 and 4 on the floor.

This stuff is pretty much a joke. PTFE will not bond to engine parts in normal operating conditions and is dubious as wear inhibitor when in suspension with motor oil. Even Dupont told them to knock it off using their trademark "Teflon" name for PTFE as their own studies shown it had no value as a motor oil additive.
