Sold my Gladiator today

Speaking of gullible private parties out there, I am considering selling my total stock 2020 Gladiator Rubicon with 46,000 miles on it. It's never even been off-road since I've had it. I bought it used in 2021 with only 15,000 miles. Just for the helluvit I input the info into Carvana and they offered me $34,000+. Yikes! Yeah, right. I THINK if I sell it myself I can get somewhere over the mid 40,000's for it.

I like my truck really well though it's not very comfortable for my girlfriend when we take 500 mile round trips to central California to visit her son and our grand daughter. She's got problems with a couple of vertebra due to osteoporosis and its only going to get worse over time.

Thinking of a late used GMC Denali 1500 for the space and comfort. I had a 2014 2500HD Denali before the Gladiator. It was a very nice truck and I kinda miss it, though a '19 or '20 has more features of course as a true ON-road pickup.

I was going to move back to a Ram 1500 to make it easier on my wife back issues. But after not finding any interest, doing another test drive on the Ram 1500 and realizing I really don't want to go back to dealing with a full size truck again as well as her having a procedure that helped her back out along with some seat cushions and decided to keep the JT for now. Just gotta get some new tires eventually cause the Wildpeaks at almost 40K Miles are getting louder and louder

I don't know if this will be true. Stellantis just canned Jeep CEO Christian Meunier (ahem, I mean he voluntarily left) after a year of poor sales and growing inventory. If vehicles aren't selling at current prices, they sure won't at higher prices. Either they find ways to cut cost (salaries, manufacturing efficiency, etc) or get back to making more affordable non-luxury Jeeps.

Heck my non luxury JT still cost a lot.

Talked with a local dealership in PA last Tuesday. The dealership has all the 2023 marked $7,000 off sticker, includes rubicon and mojave. They are trying to dump all the 2023 and push in the 2024 obviously. But he did say that most 2024 wranglers were going to be hybrid as the government is pushing for hybrid vehicles.

Next are the prices on future vehicles, due to the increased demands of the autoworkers they expect vehicle prices to go up when a deal is made. No way executives are going to eat the cost, customers will.

Interest rates are having an impact on loans and people buying, so expect 2023's to drop a little more until they clear the lots.

The market has bounced over the last few years, expect them to keep bouncing in the future especially if the autoworkers have a big win.

I think a Hybrid would be the only way I trade in my current JT for a newer one but the prices they will want will probably block me from getting one. My wife and I have been talking about getting her a hybrid to replace her Toyota Highlander. So either I could sell the Highlander or maybe even sell my JT and take the Highlander Platinum which only has 45K miles on it and get here a Hybrid Car. It would be a tough decision cause seems like I always find a reason I need a nice midsized truck (LOL).

But maybe KBB is all wet. I plan on listing it at $45,000 obo but if no bites I guess I'll have to lower it.

PS: Best of luck with your wife's back condition. Glad the procedure gave her some relief. My girlfriend's can't be relieved as far as I know because of the osteoporosis and the already hair line fractured vertebra.

All it takes is one person to be willing to make the deal can't hurt to throw it out there

Yup. Rebel "Machine", (that version was 1970 only) two of them I am aware of sold for over 100K - one was around 124K, the other not far from that. Some of the parts, such as wheels, intake manifolds and certain other parts are one year, one model only. Used only on that version of the Rebel.
The Rebel itself was 67-70.

I would love to have a fully restored '67 coupe. So very rare.

Yeah, I got waaay off the highway with that one. Just was curious when I saw the name "Rebel" pop up.
And it's correct that a plain-jane Rebel from the 60s won't bring a ton of money. Only The Machine version.
My mother asked me to "find a car for my brother" - at the time I was still in college, automotive, and did a lot of driving for commuting to and from, working in a shop in the evenings and a lot of contacts. South of the college, on my way to work after classes, there was a 1967 Rebel sitting in a yard with a for sale sign. Having been into that brand for my short driving life, and having worked in an AMC shop for a while, I knew the cars and figured - whatever is wrong, I can easily deal with it.
Our younger brother fancied it up by airbrushing a multi-colored Pegasus on the trunk lid.

I actually got curious about the Ram 1500 Rebel and looked it up.
If I wasn't totally happy with the JT and for any reason decided it wasn't enough truck for me, or whatever reason decided it was time for a different truck - space, comfort, abilities/capabilities, towing, payload, interior space or any reason at all, I've decided I'd take a very very good hard look at Ram.
So I can't really blame people who see their needs elsewhere for moving in that direction. If it wasn't this JT for me - I would very likely have a Ram in the garage.
Hopefully this gets us back onto the JT -> Ram highway.

Auction price is about $40k. I think your mid-40s ballpark is right.

I usually pay cash but financed this one. I bought the Gladiator for $60k, sold it for $55k and with discounts and tax savings on the trade I maybe lost $1k. The Ram purchase and discounts washed away the loss.
