Spacers vs aftermarket wheels for towing

ive never towed any significant weight on any vehicle with other than stock wheels

So... assuming the same or very similar offset (-16 to -12), am I better off with one or the other?
Load rating on aftermarket would be 2500 or more and weight would be 30lbs or less

I am sure the Gladiator was tested on its OEM wheels. I would bet a decent amount of money that they are up to the job as advertised or Jeep wouldn't put them on there.

Since you are asking about spacers, I'm assuming that you are running larger tires. Which doesn't matter for this conversation. I remember reading something on this forum about spacers and torque rating on the lugs. Which is why I went with aftermarket wheels with proper back spacing. The factory torque on lugs is 130lbs. What I read on here was, that you can only torque spacers to 80lbs. I'd guess that once those spacer lugs get torqued too much over 80lbs and stretch those threads, that the lug studs may be susceptible to breakage. I did have a rear spacer stud snap on my JK (actually 3 of 5). Sooooo, I went with aftermarket on my JT. Just my 2¢
