Has anyone switched over to a nicer matching alloy for the spare tire?

May have one from a JL takeoff set, but wasnt sure if it would get all scratched up the way its mounted.

Any insights?

I picked up one for my Mojave off of eBay. It's part of 5 tire rotation and I have put 10K miles on my Mojave since then. No marks or damaged noted.

I have not bothered with it. I don't see the need for a five tire rotation, especially where the spare is not real easy to get at. I have not touched the spare in over three years since purchasing the truck. I bought a set of Overland take-offs from another member for $500. That gave me a whole new set and four matching spares.

Several of us here have posted how we either bought 5 wheels or bought a matching wheel for our trucks and run 5 matching wheels and tires. I've done that for over 2 years now.
It gets dirty, not scratched. They all look fine.

With a matching wheel if one gets damaged, I put on the spare and drive off.
Easier to rotate, too - one jack, one corner at a time.
I know my spare is always ready and the spare holder isn't stuck or rusty as every 5,000-8,000 miles, my spare is on the truck!

There's several threads on this very topic here.
