I have the Rival aluminum stubby you linked. Great bumper and company with great customer service. This bumper has a winch plate that bolts to the frame. The winch plate is plenty capable of housing a 12,000lb winch.

I got a rugged ridge but I don’t recommend it. I would listen to others input and see if you can find a nicer one for cheaper on FB marketplace
Thank you so much for your input!

Hello all,
opinions and advise/experience on new bumper with winch capabilities.

aluminum?
https://www.jeepbeef.com/shop/product/rival-front-stubby-aluminum-bumper-for-jeep-jk-jl-jt/

Steel (as in just about every other bumper I've looked at, I'm getting a little bumperdrunk) but I like the look and price of this one

The aluminum one comes with a front skid plate(?) whereas the steel one doesn't. How important is that front protection plate? I'm guessing pretty important to protect the front suspension parts. (still dealing with my constant pull to the right from my other thread.)

I went with Rock Hard mid-width aluminum in the front and their rear aluminum as well. I run a Warn Zeon10 winch with non-issue at all and all Rock Hard products are made in Nebraska, USA ?

Thank you,
What bumper did you get? I do kinda like the Stubby look of some of them.

you can get some super high quality bumpers that you won't find on drop shipper sights for less than $1000.

Post some pics of styles you like im happy to help you find a quality, American made bumper that's like it and you won't see 40 duplicates of when you're around lots of jeeps

Is there a website, link, or anything with more information?

Really depends on your use of the JT.

If it's just a Pavement Princess, then either will work and you just need to choose what you like the best and meets your budget.

If it's a Trail Tramp then go with steel, the thicker the better. Steel will slide across obstacles much better than aluminum.

Thank you! I definitely want to go on trails!! :jk:
I went to my first ORVH park with a club on 3/27 and had an absolute BLAST! I text my kids the photos at the end of the day and told them "I think I finally found my tribe". lol. I so enjoyed every minute!
