Tried my luck with a forum search, but came up empty.

Does anyone know what the torque spec is for the 4 steering gear frame mounting bolts?
It is a '21 Mojave w/cast iron steering gear housing.

While servicing the truck, noticed the slight bit of rust tracking from the lower steering gear mount bolts (shown below), which could indicate that they are not tight.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Best I could find was 99 for the steel steering gear bolts.
(also called steering sector)

I think it’s 100ftlb

that’s what it is when you install a sector shaft brace,

that rust looks like where your frame is flexing
Yeah, Synergy says 99 - and it's the same bolts that go into the steel steering gear (steering sector) - that's where I got my specs from as the info I have from FCA on the other parts doesn't include the steering sector to frame bolt torque. So 100 is only 1 off from 99 and most torque wrenches will be +/- that much anyway.

Thanks guys! That's what this forum is all about.

Started at 60ft/lbs & worked up in 20 ft/lb increments to 100.
The lower front bolt circled in the picture with the rust track had less than 60 ft/lbs on it from the factory. All the others were not completely tight as well, but not that bad.

Heading up to Michigan tomorrow for Thanksgiving, so glad I noticed the issue before the trip.

Thanks again,
Dave

When I had my 2020, I checked those bolts and found they weren't where they needed to be, either.
Another thing to check, I guess.

My JK, with a steel steering gear, factory spec from the FSM is 87 ft lbs. So, if you're going to 99/100, I think you're well within range.
