You keep using the word mainstream, avoiding just telling us which sources you don’t like. ... I’m happy to have this debate, and will do it civilly, but let’s do it in a direct message so neither of us get banned.
I have made only one post in this thread so it's not really accurate to say that I "keep using" it. Most people know what it means and have an idea who all is included, plus or minus a news outlet or two depending on one's opinion.

I don't feel the need to have a debate here in a Jeep forum about politics. I was really just complaining about the news media being full of bias and untruths (accidental and on purpose) and lacking in the actual journalism needed to research and get to the bottom of a story before they open their mouths.

Here come the conspiracies. Keep watching Fox. I’m sure you’ll be enriched by their bullshit commentary. Ratings before honesty. Fox and newsmax unite.
Keep watching CNN for their bullshit. I do not watch Fox, or Newsmax. I think for myself. Your opinion of right leaning news outlets is about the same as mine for left leaning news outlets. How do you know you are not getting the BS?

Stellantis got greedy and raised the prices to the point people won't pay . You can't blame the people. It's time they sit down and 're figure what it cost to build the vehicle and lower the price and stop being so greedy on the profits .

When interest rates skyrocketed the housing and auto industries felt the pinch harder than anyone else. We all know about sales being off and the 15K+ 2023 JTs sitting on lots until Spring this year. We also know about the boneheaded managerial decisions of Stellantis. What doesn't get as much play is that the Feds put their thumb on the scale via regulatory changes, thereby compelling automakers to invest heavily in EV tech when sales were heading down and rates were climbing. That plus a few billion annually in increased CAFE fines are all compounding effects. I hope Stellantis can withstand the storm but right now it's not looking great.

Keep in mind-- I'm not an anti-EV person, we're considering one next year if the market turns around and things get better. If not we hold off till the following but it's definitely on the radar.
Also at one point the Wrangler 4XE was the best selling PHEV in the country. Whether the Gladiator version will be or not is yet to be seen. We have a RAV4 PHEV that is a great car. Not sure the Gladiator PHEV will be as well. I'm waiting for some on here to get one and see what they think of the on and off road capabilities. We did rent a Wrangler 4XE on the Big Island this year and did some low range off-roading and it was impressive. Watching...

I don't watch any TV news, just read three newspapers a day - a benefit of being retired.

I'd really be curious to see what 4XE sales are YTD given its previous sales/popularity.

BTW: How do you like the PHEV? The Hybrid and PHEV was on our list before we bought the Bronco Sport but at the time they were months out and subjected to that stupid Toyota take it or leave it reservation model, not to mention the dealers were throwing absurd markups on top of charging MSRP. Wound up test driving a low spec gasser because that was all that was available and was really unimpressed.

Probably because I also think for myself, am intelligent enough to come to sound conclusions, and definitely don’t watch or pay attention to cnn.

So you’re aware, I get zero of my news from television. And zero from social media.

I trust actual journalism.
You've said so much, yet you've said nothing.

Why don't you tell us what the definition of "actual journalism" is then?

Reported facts, not editorials, which I hope we all learned in elementary school are opinions. Not commentary shows that discuss panelists’ opinions about the news. Newspapers primarily. Not social media or any other crowd-sourced garbage. Why should I need to explain this? It’s not complicated.

We love it. We have rooftop solar that's about paid for given that we don't pay for electricity anymore, and so driving around town is virtually free. We drive to San Diego to visit family a couple times a year, and with a PHEV we don't have to charge the batteries on the way. When we get near a destination we select "charge" and drive around on the batteries at the destination essentially functioning as a normal hybrid. Until charging stations are everywhere and charging time comes down, PHEVs are a good intermediate step. Plus, the acceleration of the RAV4 is pretty amazing.

A NON-answer, answer

Tell us, Great and Wonderful Knower of ALL, what/which sources provide what YOU claim is "factual" information?

How about an ACTUAL answer this time, instead of another one of your word salads, that is NO answer.

Stop trolling. I did answer you. Newspapers. Maybe read next time instead of name calling. Just a suggestion. I’m obviously not providing the specific publications. You’re just asking me to, so you can use it as ammunition. You’re pretty transparent. It’s not tough to figure out your intentions, which are just to argue for no reason.
