hello everyone,
I have got a question on tires for Jeep Gladiator.
I have asked several people and everyone of course have different opinions.
My question is can you run 35 12.50 17 tires on the stock mojave rims.
Im not going to be doing in crazy off roading just your basic camping and fishing trips.
any help would be apprreciated

Can you? Yes. They fit (barely). It's called "poor man's bead lock". Not every tire shop is willing to install them, but someone will.

Should you? well that's an on-going debate. That much pull inward on the sidewall means you're going to have to run lower PSI to pass a chalk test. lower psi means more flex at highway speeds, flex means more heat at highway speeds, heat means more wear.

Granted, you could skip the chalk test and run them higher, but then you're wearing unevenly.

Short answer? You do you. There are a lot of opinions out there, and like assholes everyone has one (including me).

I wouldn't, lots of others would.

No one ever finishes the line...

' opinions are like assholes, everyone has one... '

Are opinions like noses then?

Finish it with ' and they all stink! '

That's the best answer to this question I've ever seen. As long as you know what you're losing by doing it, there's no problem with it IMHO. That being said, there are some companies making narrow / pizza cutter 35"s or 255/85R17 that are completely in spec on the factory wheels

there are a few Nitto tires in 35x11.50-17 that might be worth a look. I know they make the Ridge, Trail MT and Recon AT all in that size.

I bought my Mojave used with 19k miles. The original owner had installed 37x13.50r17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the stock Mojave rims along with Synergy wheel spacers. I drove it that way for about 1,000 miles before I jumped the Ridge Grapplers over to a set of the Icon Rebound Pro’s. It actually didn’t drive all that bad, but it was summer time and I never got a chance to wheel it that way. The original owner’s choice of a 13.50” wide tire wouldn’t have been my preference, and the fact that they were mounted on narrow factory rims got me moving to wider aftermarket rim sooner than I intended. That being said, they still didn’t drive too bad for a daily.

I feel like people who say no don’t do it never drove a car from the 60s. I ran 165s in the front and 285s in the rear on the same 15x6 wheels just like everyone else did ?‍♂
