So for those asking for more details…
I was out of town on a business trip so I told my daughter she could drive the truck. She went to the beach with her friends and left the truck unlocked. The top was stolen along with some of their personal items. Thieves left the freedom panels but may have been spooked before they could take them. She made the police report and I’ll get the truck back tonight and file insurance tomorrow.

I enjoyed the tariff comments!!!!

Wow……that sucks!! I hope your daughter learned a very important lesson - NEVER EVER leave your stuff unlocked!!! Cars, house, shed…everything!

Funny….I’ve been hesitating about buying an underseat lock box….I think its time to order!!! Granted…nothing is safe with time/tools. I’ll be damned if I give them ‘the easy way’ to steal my stuff. They gotta work for it!!

I take my doors & top off all the time. That’s why I’m ordering an underseat lock box.

If I don’t have passengers in the back seat, I take those out and leave ‘em at home. If the front headrests are the same as the back …..(with that retaining clip), that’ll take them too much time to remove them.

Besides… I don‘t see an aftermarket demand for used headrests.

None of this adds up.

I'm in the Houston area. I fish our Gulf of Mexico coast A LOT. I know our beaches. What beach was she at where an entire hardtop could be stolen and no one notice? That's what I'm struggling with.

Sounds to me like she and her friends probably tried to take the top off, broke it, ditched it, and claimed it was stolen. That's what I woulda done lol.
