You didn’t want to throw them into the storage box under the back seat???

Took off the front doors and just tossed them in the center console were they remain. Never considered dirt getting in there.
You put your doors in the center console??

I took the nuts off my '14 JKU back in '15 and never put them back on. I just traded the Wrangler last month, and until reading this post, hadn't even realized they're still in the garage. The thing I noticed was a small amount of sludge/dirt/grease build-up around where the male/female hinges mate. I figured it's just dirt and road grime that got ground-down by the constant and subtle vibrations/movements of the doors.

I haven't taken the JT doors off yet, but once I do the nuts will go into the same bag as the JKU's.

IMHO, take'm off and don't give 'em another thought. 🤘

The thing for me is, the way the nuts are designed they're kind of half of the door pin bushing. If it was like my TJ was where it was literally just a nut, I'd leave them off. So what I did was I left them on the driver's door (since that's the one that gets used) and took them off the other 3 doors. Saves a little bit of time anyway. I'm afraid of wearing out the actual door pin bushing. I just got a set of the pin guides, next time I take the doors off I'll install them on all four and I'll feel better about the bushing "coverage". Unless the pin guides turn out to be cheap garbage I'll probably just leave them on forever.

I often ran my TJ this way, but I felt like it did put a little extra strain on the pins and the hinges. Maybe tolerances are tighter now, but there was enough play in the door while on and closed that the doors jumped a tiny bit on bumps.

Anyone ever seen the pin guides in black instead of silver?

I quit putting them in on my JKU... a non jeep friend asked " well what if you tip over and your doors fall off?"
my answer : "if that happens my doors are my least concern ".
