Unions absolutely function as a money stream directly to the DNC. I know this firsthand.Only 11% of American workers are union. Unions are not there for the worker. They are there for the Democratic National Committee. The majority of the other 90% of American workers seem to make a livable wage unrepresented.
However, taking political parties out of it, unions began as a necessity. Unregulated or poorly regulated capitalism turns societies into the many extremely poor governed by the few extremely rich. (Pareto Distribution.)
There was a brief period of time in our history where our government worked to properly regulate our capitalistic economy and that due in no small part to the cause of unions. Yes they have metamorphosized into something other than the original intent. But the facts still remains when the government doesn't establish laws making the distribution of profits/wages somewhat equitable, then the grotesque Union apparatus steps in.
The gross disparity between worker pay and executive pay over the last two decades is evidence that it's not the unions or the workers who are taking too much.
4/10 is not on the table.Interestingly enough, companies that implement a 4/10 work week see higher productivity and higher profits...
Maybe it's the end goal though and that's not a bad thing in my opinion.
