Yes premium. Every turbo/charger I know of for our rig requires premium. Now certainly if you end up someplace with only regular your not going to instantly blow up if you use one tank of regular.I’ve seriously considered adding forced induction to my ‘21 JTR, especially since we live at 6,500’ elevation, and naturally aspirated engines lose power that high, but I just can’t quite commit. Does the Magnuson setup require premium fuel? Are there any issues with engine coolant or oil temps? Any information you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Under normal driving I've never had an oil or tranz temp issue. Towing up a 6 deg grade in 100+ deg day that's 6 miles long. Yes she got hot and de-rated. Same issue the diesels have. There is just not enough space in the grill for enough cooling. The solution is stupid simple. Go slower up hill. Again only ever had this issue when towing.
