Just off the wall thinking. Is there a correlation between age and up sizing lift kits and wheel/tire sizes? At 20 I would of no doubt been lifting it up but at 68 I have no such plans, at least at this time. I bought my JT as an everyday driver and tow vehicle for my Travel Trailer.

I had this same thought as well. I’m 41 now and plan on using mine as my travel, tow, and work vehicle and may possibly go to 35s one day. 20 year old me would have had 37s and a 6 inch lift just because of the look. But in the meantime I’ll maybe get 33s and keep it at the stock specs. If I want to go extreme off road I’ll buy a 2dr wrangler to modify and pull it behind my gladiator.

49 year old me has Mopar lift and 37s. My wife is a year older than I am but she has confirmed that the chicks dig it no matter their age.

Different goals. 20 year old you was trying to get laid, so the 6" lift got you looks... one way or another! Now you are worried about mpg...lol

At 44 the gladiator is bringing out the kid in me. For some reason more than my last two wranglers I have more wish to modify than ever before. Nothing crazy but a two inch lift and larger tires are just screaming to me. For now it is all debate because they keep talking about accessories outselling the wrangler but I can attest to the fact that many people, such as me, have already bought a tonneau cover and depending on which one you want the average cost is about $500-$1200. Due to a grand on the cover it really makes me rethink buying tires and such for a while, nevermind the fact that the old man in me says I have 3000 miles on a brand new set of tires with factory warranty (as well as I had bought new tires for the JK just last fall and then traded it in for the JT).

All in all the JT is just bringing out some fun but I have to watch myself because I have enough disposable income that I could drop 7-10k just for fun on the JT but seeing some of the pictures with 35's on the overland rims has really made me wonder about an intermediary change.

I`m 67 and i will do a 2 inch lift and 35 or 37" tires. My perspective is not just for looks but making a good platform even better without taking things too far. I have lifted trucks and Jeeps all of my life and there is a fine line that should not be crossed.

I think use has more to do with it than age. I'm 49, and plan to use my Gladiator for commuting and towing my RV. So, I won't be altering anything with the suspension. I may go with more aggressive treaded tire at some point, but they won't be larger than stock.

agreed on the fine line. I think 2 inch is a great compromise for those that don't go heavy off road on the regular. For me it is a few hours to the nearest location that you aren't risking police intervention and I just don't have the time or energy to spend driving hours each way for a few hours of fun. Grown up stuff to do like mow the yard, clean the house, give the dog time to run, etc.

I agree. Capable platform that was meant to be upgraded. 35s with stock suspension has great onroad manners. Offroad, in fairly mild situations the belly drags though. Rear hitch too. This is a tow rig for me, so can't go too crazy. A small lift and some skids may be necessary. Honestly I didn't expect to want to. Have a JK that can now become dedicated trail rig. But we had alot of fun in the JT, and for mild stuff with the kids the JT may prove beneficial. Looked at some some small tent campers this weekend too. Wild what they have come up with now days. Personally, I'm over my sleeping on the ground days unless via backpack. If I am car camping anyway, i want some sort of reasonable bed.

And still envious of the rigs on 37s plus lol. Just not in the cards for me on the jt.

I'm 52 and the JT is my main vehicle. I am planing on several mods bumpers, winch, lights etc but not a lift, for a couple of reasons. First my parents are elderly and I take them on errand's, mom needs a step stool already, also I find trucks that are lifted 4 to 6 inches are not as useful as a truck anymore, unless you'r 6'6'' reaching over the side of the bed and climbing in and out is a bitch, especially when you are 5'8" and 200lbs, one of the many reasons I like the JT is because I can load things in and out easily (Including my fat ass) but I think if I was in my 20's I would most likely do a lift just for looks, but at 52 no. So I guess put me down for I'm to old for a lift kit.

40 something here, thinking 33s and a level is about as far as I am going to go. Probably do a bumper and winch, but not planning on adding a whole lot of height. Part of that is I didn't get the max tow, and am enjoying the 20 MPG I am getting, don't feel like spending a few grand for a re-gear to effectively run 35s.

I’m 48 but I’m planning 37s and a 3 or 4” lift. I currently have 35s and a 3.5” lift on my JLU. But I’m 6’2”, pretty flexible, and in good shape for my age. I still run 2miles a couple times a week.

Just my view but I have a 2 1/2” in the front and 1 1/2” in the back with 35x12.5R17 tires. I honestly don’t think I need much more at this point. She goes everywhere I am willing to go and MPG and towing is not affected much. I would like to go 37’s in my next set of tires just to provide a little more diff clearance. I also have young kids that needs to be able to get in and out lol

Maybe I’m on the other end. A Benjamin Button by the sounds of it. 30 and bought it for my wife. I’d be surprised if she lets me put a stubby antenna on it!
