Suspension torque specs

Can anyone verify the rear control arm torque specs? Online I’m finding two different specs.

Here you can see two different specs listed one being a good bit higher and makes more sense compared to the front specs. It also shows what looks like different bolt sizes for the specs.

Assuming you mean the rear control arms, the bottom one is correct.

Yes rear control arms and thanks. The first one seemed kind of low for the rear arms.

I’m not saying you aren’t correct but how do you know the second one is correct?

The instructions that came with my AEV lift used the first spec.

I just want to get it correct.

So when I did my lift I also saw both and kept digging. Every aftermarket arm company recommends 190 including Clayton and teraflex (they actually said 200).

The other reason is because fastening torque is calculated by the bolt size, if you told me it was front lowers 190 and rear 185 I'd believe you but same size bolt on same size bushing with same size mounts no way it would be less than half the toque.

Last, I had to break out the high torque impact to spin all of them off, my mid torque is good to just about 185-200 so no way the factory tightened it to 90.

Makes sense. I had to bust out 1/2” Milwaukee impact to spin of the rear LCAs, as well. Guess I’ll be crawling back under the truck to snug those up a bit.

Good luck, try not to give yourself a hernia. Plus side is with the lift you got a lot more room

Haha. I was sore for days after getting the fronts torqued. I fought with my puny little 1/2" drive torque wrench for way longer than I should have before finally just buying a bigger 3/4" drive torque wrench with a longer handle. 190 ft-lbs is no joke when you're laying on your back...

Just put my lift on this past weekend. Ran into this same problem where I found both of the same lists you posted. I got lucky and found where somewhere downloaded a copy of the Mopar 2 inch lift instructions. The copy you have with the rear arms being 185 to 200ftlbs is the correct one.

I suggest you call a friend over and both get under there to tackle it. Torque specs that high laying underneath is no easy task by yourself.

Does anyone know if the front control arms are touched during realignment? I'm wondering if trying to get it torqued down is wasted effort if they do it again at the shop.

That all depends on the shop you use.

Normal tire/alignment shop won't touch the control arms to make changes.

4x4 shop if they are worth their salt will dial in the control arms also to get everything into spec.
