Kicking tires, looking around, was "suggested" by 3 people at a recent Jeep event that my stock Mojave could do better with the front sway bar disconnected.
I don't like the thought of cutting on a <12 month old otherwise pretty much unmodified vehicle (Jeep or not) so was looking for something that didn't require hacking off any brackets at the axle tube on the right end.
Searching found links to your products - but the pages I landed on stated they were intended for xx" lift.
I don't intend to lift, it's a stock Mojave X.........

Well speaking off the cuff . How much higher is a mojave than a sport in stock configurations? Would that likely make them viable ?

Can't say exactly, but it sits higher than my Overland did with 2" synergy springs under the front - by quite a bit.

I want to say that I have good feeling that it is doable. Better wait for some of the lift gurus to chime in

Waiting for Metalcloak to chime in - it's their product!

I've had the Metal Cloak disconnects before. They are LONG. If they say it's meant for a 2.5" to 5.5" lift, it has no chance of fitting on anything stock from Jeep (except maybe an Xtreme Recon? lol), less you want your sway bar at a hell of an angle (and probably jammed up through the fender liner).

That being said, I don't care how pricey they are, I'd probably never run anything other than Apex Disconnects unless I owned a Rubicon. Exactly one time trying to line up manual discos, hunting for perfectly flat ground, having someone bounce on the bumper or pick up on it trying to slide the other side into place is enough to never do that again.

Edit: Adding to this thought - the standard manual disconnects will have you not wanting to use them unless you just have to. I drove half a trail in Virginia one time before I finally gave in and knocked them loose so I'd stopped rattling my brain. My Apex - I disconnect them for fun. I was at Oreillys the other day and remembered the kids were playing in the front yard so I unlocked them real quick so I could full flex the Jeep through the ditch in the front yard on the way home cause the boys would get a kick out of it

Another vote for Apex Autolynx, buy once cry once. I do like Metal Cloak's products, have a few of them on my Gladiator but the Apex Autolynx made the most sense to me.

All interesting as all of the talk on the Wrangler side is how easy these are to disconnect and reconnect. Not a single person has complained. Same for those at the event - they used and loved the various manual disconnects like MC, JKS, RockKrawler, Teraflex and others.
I found post after post of guys saying that it's only a couple of minutes off, and on again..
Oddly, only the Gladiator people are saying just the opposite!
Just can't justify $500 for something used maybe once or twice a year. Even if it takes 10 minutes to reconnect, no big deal. You don't have to reconnect as soon as you get off the trail, lots of time, and as they said - you are generally waiting on other people or other things anyway.

Interesting note - one company said that due to hardware changes, they have a product listed for 2024+ only and another for up through 2023 model years. Nice beefy hardware, no cutting of anything.. Great video on them on YT.
So apparently, depending on type, I might have to watch for a 2024+ version.

I've used manual disconnects all over the country on a JK, not on a JT. They suck (they were JKS too). They are fine when you park on perfectly flat ground and a nuisance everywhere else. Unless you like laying on the ground fooling with stuff. That's the only way they are getting re-connected.

I can nearly count on one hand how many times I have used my Apex in three years. Still worth it. Walk around the truck and turn the knobs and get back in. Want to lock back up, turn both knobs back the other way and push the sway bar back down on one side until I hear it click. Other side will lock in on the first turn or bump you hit.

Sounds like you have never had disconnects on a Jeep though, and if you only ever try the 'regular' kind as I will call it, you'll never be the wiser and probably find it to be 'fine'.

Some folks from Virginia like scrapple - doesn't make it good - just means they don't know better 😆

I lived that life. I'd throw a free set of regulars in the dumpster at this point.

Edit: I didn't love the JKS set I had. Too many little parts, janky bushings and grease fittings that nobody needs - at least on the JK version...I'd buy something else if you want old school set.

Not trying to be hard on ya Bill - I think you should try whatever you like. This just happens to be a hot topic for me :CWL:

Also - I had to look back through my notes.

I did in fact buy that very set of Metal Cloak sway bar disconnects for my truck before getting Apex. They were not even close. Hysterically too long, even with my 1.5" spacer. Even with a taller Mojave I think it's no shot. I may have taken photos. I will look.

Do not tell my wife's cousin Ralph that! LOL And he's from southern Iowa, not even Virginia.

On the links - I was going by the guys on the course, pretty nice builds, who used the cheaper (sub-200) disconnects and loved them and used them pretty regular. I figured - those running the same courses I was on, with years of doing it - they have obviously used them a time or three.

I held up a brand new 2020 Rubicon front sway bar link to my Mojave links - identical lengths - and yet the Mojave is a bit higher and the sway bar still level. Looks like they dropped the sway bar mount a bit on the frame? Makes sense - use the same links, but since the frame for a Mojave is already different, make the change there.

I can say - the Mojave front sway bar links are the exact same length as the 2020 Rubicon links (I ended up with a ton of parts when I bought a take-off set of stuff just to get the springs so I have extra stuff stashed in boxes)

So to your post that JUST came through as I typed that - no worries - the Mojave links are the same as the Rubicon at least - likely the Sport as well. I know they were the same part number as the Overland used. Likely all levels of JT use the same front links.

Now - if I went MC - since they are plated, I could cut them off, and replate them (kidding, sort of, yeah, I think I am)
