Buy the extension cable. I think it was 29.00 and worth every penny. I just had to go to the dealer. Unmarried, swapped plugs out in 30 seconds. I love the extension.
Great find and just ordered! Thanks 🤩

What is the proper way to unmarry/marry? Every time I unmarry/marry mine I have to reset everything. I thought that was the point it remembered settings. Can't figure what I'm doing wrong any help would be appreciated.

Just unmarry as you did..... Do know that usually on a remarry your settings go back but this is not always the case.... tire sizes, especially go AOL..

Best bet is to have a piece of paper with all your settings listed, that you can use to quickly check your settings on a remarry, and re-do settings that were not put back lets say...

Hint, Joe told me a couple of years ago:

For those that might be interested.. this l don't do, but is doable:

"If you really wanted to, with your laptop....you can use the ZPU utility-> – click “configure” then “utilities” and then do a BCM READ (while plugged into the Jeep, ignition RUN)

After doing this, then unmarry, and when you’re ready – marry, and do a BCM write, writing back the file you saved. Done."
Yep thats what mine does loses tire, gear and pressure. Oh well not like it's an everyday thing

DO keep in mind my suggestion.... to write down all settings... even the simplest settings. This way you can quickly use your check list to ascertain all your settings are the way you want...

Remember, you need to unmarry and remove Tazer JL hardware every time your JT is scheduled for Service....
Kinda just memorized settings I need. Just a bit of a pain.

The two options I am loving: 3 clicks of unlock on Fob turns bed lights on 5 turns on the bed lights AND reverse lights. Totally illuminates area when working.

@Vasmas

The ZPU utility program you use when working with firmware, will reach out and get the current final release firmware, automatically... NOT so in regard to a/any beta.

To install an available beta ...... Go to ZAutomotive's website and download the desired beta to a folder on your laptop... then point the ZPU utility program (Manual mode) to the Beta and let it load the firmware on to the unmarried Tazer JL.

Note: Best bet is to unmarry the Tazer JL before you do the update... This is mandatory right now if you have a Mac computer.. With a PC, good to do, but not mandatory.
Great thank you Pepe.

LOVING the BETA version!

For those of you doing an update for the first time (me included) don't be scared... I unmarried my Tazer just to be on the safe side > I wrote down my settings to re-select them after I marry it back to the JT.

1) Download the Z Programming Utility tool

So I just realized this after about a month into the Beta update... I seem to have lost the double tap MUTE button function for the backup camera?

I could have missed this callout in the last 2 pages of this thread but wanted to confirm that the Beta version dropped this? Kinda miss it but obviously I don't use it that often if it took me a month to realize it :)

I thought that too, have to be in drive and moving to work.
Hmmm, I thought I tried that too but now you have me second guessing myself. I could have sworn it just stopped altogether. I'll go outside and try.

** UPDATE ** My double tap backup camera function doesn't work in motion either.
