OK things are starting to arrive. Fortunately, the seat covers arrived first. As they were the item I was MOST worried about being garbage. But the verdict is in....

VERY impressed. The material is thick and heavy. The stitching is straight and sturdy. And the fit is pretty snug. Considering these cost about half of what a cheap set of seat covers on Amazon go for - first Temu purchase gets a thumbs up from me.

Tomorrow, I'll check out the snorkel. Over the weekend, the little plastic colored trim pieces.

Also, I'm sure Temu is same as eBay or Amazon. There are many different sellers selling there. So the question is not "Is all Temu stuff junk"....it should be "is the seller I'm buying from on Temu pushing junk"

These seat covers prove - not everything on Temu is garbage.

Will keep updating as the other stuff arrives....
Give an update in 6 months. Might change your mind.

There is obviously a partisan bias towards anything from "China" as some people have been conditioned to consider that place the enemy.

The reality is a huge amount of stuff we use day to day is made in China and functions totally fine. No one cared until they were told to care.

FWIW, I've bought a few knives off a couple of the highest rated sellers on Temu for ~10-20% of what at least appears to be the equivalent of their US sold counterpart...... so far, VERY satisfied with the quality. In fact, I'm fairly convinced that some of the top knife brands are selling at least some of their products that are actually being produced in China. YMMV

Friends don't let friends buy Temu. Just say no boys and girls.

AliExpress is no better. A lot of the no-name aluminum caps that people are selling on the internet are the same ones you can buy directly from China for half the cost.

Can we get a poll for this?
I'm not suprised to see you didn't get a poll, but did get a bunch of platitudes about how spending more makes things better and guarantees quality.

Thing's I've bought from Temu,

2 3D printers.
1 Cummins VE injection pump.
2 GT45 turbo chargers
2 intercoolers
1 exhaust piping kit
1 vinyl cutter
3 drones
6 Cummins VE injectors
12 or more small LCD displays for different projects.
Countless switches, relays, breakout boards, IO chipsets.

Literally nothing has failed out of the box, or failed to show up for me.

But you know, one day, I'll rue the day, or something.

This! It's amazing how smart people are online after they just spent $3000+ on a Clayton or MetalCloak lift for their Gladiator. Most of them don't even install it themselves, but they can tell you all the marketing information on it. Nothing makes a person the foremost expert on something like buying that high dollar part and having it installed at their local shop!

There's certainly sub-par things out there people can be burned on, people need to make good choices.

But as I believe you mentioned, ton's of these big companies are having their stuff imported and you're just paying 3-500% mark up for whatever vague notions of customer service they feel justifies it.

I sell quite a bit on Amazon, my customer service is great, because when 1 out of 1000 of my products fails, I just eat it and send another no questions asked. People love me as a seller, so repsonsive!

Yes, because idc about that little pittance you just cost me, your positive feedback is worth more than the item I let you keep.

I don't mind if a seller sells me a defective item, as long as they make it right. If they don't, I make sure they "rue the day".

Like when we used to buy cheap stuff from Japan?

Yeah I suppose so. And how do we feel about Japanese products now? I think most will agree they're very good now that post-WWII-era racism against Japanese manufacturing is long gone. Maybe when current manufactured racism against Chinese manufacturing is gone we'll all realize that it's just stuff like anything else. There's good, there's bad, it's just stuff.

I don't do business with Temu but I do business with Aliexpress and I think that you will find that many of the big USA 4x4 accessory vendors sell the same stuff from the same factories in China for about double the price. I won't name companies but they are easy to figure out....

I always avoid installing apps whenever possible for this reason. Ya just never know with ANY of them.

I used their web app.
I won't even install fakebook or any such app on my phone.
