Yes. For sure. I'm of the opinion I'd rather eat 1500$ out of pocket then wait around for another lane attempt to "fix" it. Warranties are smoke and mirrors, always have been. It's good to go now.

I’m exploring this option since I’m kind of a fix it right once kinda guy.

$1500 is just the clutch, right? Those of us without the skills you have are looking at another grand in installation costs too, right?

Correct, the centerforce kit was $1580 or so from summit racing. I know my local dealer quotes 6hrs for clutch change so I would say another $600-$1000 if you weren't able to install yourself.

Wow, my dealer is close to $200/hour. That would be over a grand.

I have just one question - and depending on the answer, I might suggest to Stellantis that they purchase an existing 3rd party clutch for these -
How much more pressure does it take to release your new clutch compared to the factory clutch?
Over the years, sometimes they'd 'made tings easier' to appeal to a different market segment - some people who don't want to stress a leg pushing a clutch but want a stick, that sort of thing.
If it takes more effort to push in a replacement clutch, and the stock clutch is easier to push in and hold released, could be a problem.
I drove my friends GTO with a centerforce clutch in it and I could hardly get the damned thing released - holy crap - I've driven a variety of sticks all my life in all sorts of cars, trucks and tractors but that thing was stupid heavy to release. Made it hard to drive.
They have one that requires the exact same pressure to push in, but behaves exactly like a clutch should. Or they have the dual disk one with the increased pressure required to disengage it.

Who does? CF, ACT, or Stellanis?

I got a formal quote from our Jeep dealer to install the Centerforce clutch. They want $1,500 just for installation.
So........ make sure you get a firm quote before you jump into the deep end of the pool.

That sounds like a “don’t want to do it” quote.

Done already, I don't have the dealer do any more than necessary. Usually not very much. Lol

I called my dealer today to schedule an appointment for them to do the clutch recall. They told me that the recall has been delayed because the fix Jeep had didn’t really work and they’re waiting for a new solution from Jeep.

Had anyone else experienced this?
The recall is interim. Means they know there is problem, but the fix is not available yet. The recall was never open for repair. You will get another notice from Mopar when its availabe. The dealer you talked to needs to learn more about recalls. New vehicles with the recall are on stop sale, so they dont move until the recall opens.

What does everyone think Stellantis will do? I'm holding out on an aftermarket clutch until I see their plans, but I'm genuinely curious how this will be resolved, and when. Is it even plausible that they will replace the clutch with a stouter unit?

Keeping an eye on this as well. I’m at 15k without any issue so far.
