Hurricane is I6, not V6.The TT V6 is that the “Hurricane” in the Wagoneer?
The Gladiator with a low end torquey 400hp/400T manual at 22-24 mpg would be perfect.
What rust? Where? There's not a lot to rust on these other than suspension parts, axle tubes/differential castings, frames and other areas.Jeep cares do not care. I have issues with brand new 2023 Mojave. They told me to go pound sands.
How can a brand new truck has significant rust, way more rust than my 7 years trusty f150.
I got rid of it just 4 months of ownership.
Yea......like rotten whale meat. What rust? Where? There's not a lot to rust on these other than suspension parts, axle tubes/differential castings, frames and other areas.
4 months?
Something smells fishy here.
Can't buy it. Not at 4 months. No way it had "significant rust" unless you are anal about some surface rust on frames and suspensions. Even at that, I live in Iowa - one of the salt capitals of the USA - and it gets driven in CRAP, slime, brine, salt, snow, ice - and owning JTs since November 2019, no rust that isn't normal wear and tear.
Since most body panels are aluminum, you can't be talking body.
I've been a Mopar guy ever since I was in college (1995 - 1999). Chrysler was changing America with the Dodge Cummins. Jeep was having huge success with the Wrangler TJ. In 1999, Jeep had just released the Grand Cherokee WJ (big game changer). Dodge Viper was making a name for itself. Also, Dodge had just made a public announcement in 1999 that they were joining NASCAR. It was a good time to be a Mopar fan. This forum is bias to jeep so people here can be very one sided opinion.
nuclear reactor parts? the Same guys who made bowling balls and Harleys with terrible quality control?American Machine and Foundry.
My father worked for them after they took over Western Tool.
They made bicycles, lawn and garden equipment, nuclear reactor parts, snow machines, bowling equipment and more.

? ? ? ? ?
Problem with HD was that, like AMF often did, they just bought companies and let them run. (HD had problems before AMF came along or they'd never have been bought out. I recall as a kid the jokes about HD marking their territory and so on. )nuclear reactor parts? the Same guys who made bowling balls and Harleys with terrible quality control?
thank god 3.6s are dirt cheap from any pick a apart lolStruggling to grasp being done with Jeeps over death wobble, it’s a thing and always has been. Pain in the ass but still a thing just have to work through it.
For the turbo, welcome to a diesel engine. Great when they run and run right until the sticker shock from a single failed component. Todays diesel’s aren’t an if it’s a when.
For the new Jeeps…..yeah just over engineered junk. That’s not just Jeep, that’s all of them. Toyota Tacoma today isn’t the old SR5 of yesteryear with the bullet proof 22R, Nissan Frontier isn’t the old Hardbody, I could on for hours. Huge difference between a TJ and a JT. TJ was simple and worry free. I’m in a very similar boat with mine with a 3.6 that’s has 8200 miles on it. Top end is bad, I know it’s bad. Been to 3 different dealers and all 3 dealers we can’t find anything wrong….the last dealer I told SM it’s coming apart or will soon or this literally is the biggest pile of shit gas engine ever made.
There is more money tied up in JUST in the fuel system alone than an entire new crate 3.6L from Jeep. Not knowing parts cost specifically I would guess pump, rail, fuel tubes, and injectors are 8K plus or minus. When parts start to surpass an engine in cost, I’m out. That’s just fuel, haven’t even gotten to the ancillary shit like turbo, EGR valves/coolers, or the after treatment group and related sensors. I’d need one solid ass reason to justify that that ticking financial bomb. I was a SM once at a Dodge dealer once, I’ve seen people take loans out on a 401 just to pay the bill. No thank you.thank god 3.6s are dirt cheap from any pick a apart lol
true, that does leave a lot of totalled Gladys in junkyards for me to get those said parts from tho. plus a lot of shared parts with wranglers. Its not easy but i grew up with the newer vehicles. it can't be anymore complicated than a 5.7 lexus V8.There is more money tied up in JUST in the fuel system alone than an entire new crate 3.6L from Jeep.
