I would be pissed and I've had bad dealings with various vendors in the past (I've had way too many projects ) ...
However my time is worth more than that. If I had 3 tires I wanted on my Truck, I'd want those on today. I would not want to miss out on a Upcoming trip.
My advice cancel the 4th tire and let them know you are done with their business. Next find a local tire shop tell them the story see if they can price match a tire, then pay them to do the full mount and balance on all 4

I do feel like Boomers are ruining everything, but my parents never lied to me. I also have two millennial children who are awesome. Both are college graduates and one is a medical doctor. We trained them well!
I wouldn't go as far to call out an entire generation. There are bad people in all generations. This is non-sense talk.

You have a company that errored. Whether on purpose on not, you have the ability to get your money back. I agree that it was not right. If a forth tire is on it's way to you, that information should have been made known.

I would follow up with an email, if you can wait a few days, I would not rush to reverse the charges. That sometimes becomes a pain in the butt, at least with my bank. Good luck.

Once again, it's been nearly 2 weeks since I paid for 4 tires. They sent me 3 without notifying me. They knew they sent 3. The proof is on the pallet.

I'm not calling it an entire generation. I just know that nobody in my generation would think this is okay. People telling me to take one for the team just don't understand.

GenX here. Remember the dog eat dog adage growing up. Well if you fuck me, I will fuck you back. Because revenge is best served cold.

Call you credit card company and have the charges reversed already. Then you'll have your money back and 3 tires for the inconvenience.

It's not really "taking one for the team" but you have to adjust and adapt to a world where online buying is still very imperfect, and places that aren't brick-and-mortar have you by the balls if you use them. I believe that these people are just trying to make a living and aren't out to actively screw you. The fact that they drop-ship and don't take phone calls tells me that they're not even really a business. They probably don't even have office space. It's a guy in his basement with a laptop directing orders that come in. There probably was four or more tires on hand somewhere at one time, but they sell to others as well and one of yours got shorted.

Just get your money back for one tire or for all and move on with your life. I know you're feeling very slighted and annoyed but this is pretty tame compared to most online buying horror stories, all things considered.

They open in 20 minutes. At the end of each email I have sent, I have included my phone number and asked him to call me. I'm going to give him a chance to make it right. If it's not resolved by this afternoon, I will take matters into my own hands.

I don't think you should take one for the team. You are not to blame for any of this mess. But to generalize and call out a generation is just plain wrong. X's Y's and the rest all have flawed people mixed in their groups. The Golden age group have their share of evil, but they have been known to be the best generation.

Frustrating situation sure. Warehousing mistakes happen, especially on low inventory items. I could come up with a dozen different situations on why the system would say 4, actually only have 3, and the warehouse still ship 3.

At this point you could have taken their refund for the 1 tire, bought yourself a 4th brand new tire locally, and been done with it. Maybe even leave the website a bad review if you wanted to.

A PSA to everyone who shops online - if you can't physically stand in the store and speak to someone don't expect phenomenal customer service. Expect to be made whole monetarily and then go about your day. A local shop has to potentially see you again on a regular basis, an online shop has infinitely more customers to pull from and doesn't care if they ever see you again so therefore they aren't going to go out of their way to do so.

It's called FAFO. Waste my time and energy, I'll just recapture it on the other end.

Even Steven is the name of the game.

BTW, AMEX gives you 110 days to reverse charges. The normal turn around is 2 business so days. Just have documentation ready if they ask for it.

I placed an order for 4 tires on jeepandtruckparts.com aka HPTAutosport on Thursday, January 9, and my credit card was billed immediately.

Jeepandtruckparts.com is located in North Carolina and advertises that they ship in 1-5 business days.

On Tuesday, January 14, the tires shipped from Dallas, TX using XPO. On Friday, January 17, XPO scheduled the delivery for Monday, January 20. When the XPO driver arrived, he said he had 3 tires for me. He opened his truck, and there was one pallet with 3 tires on it. I immediately checked the JeepandTruckParts.com website, and sure enough, the sure said that all items in the order had shipped.

I called them using the number on the paperwork on the pallet. I got a voicemail saying that they do not accept any phone calls and to send an email. I emailed them and was told they would check with the warehouse. The next email said that they were out of stock and were checking on the lead time for the missing tire. The next email said they could refund my money for the missing tire if I didn't want to wait.

My problem is that they should have told me they only had 3 tires 11 days ago, instead of sending the 3 they had and not trying to find a 4th tire at that time. I emailed and told him I would prefer to just receive a refund for the entire order. I received no reply. What would you do? I called my credit card company and they asked me to wait 24 hours to see if they "make it right" before reversing the charges.

I would and have in the past give them 1 more email if no response reverse charges and send a follow up email asking for a shipping label. A good company would have reached out before they sent out only 3 tires

Face to face is a great way to get things done. A lot of businesses try to hide behind an IP address, which is a piss poor business practice.

But that same firewall they like to live/deal behind can also be the Honeypot for a customer aka, slay them with reviews online.

Ok, enough Cyber/IT puns for one day lol

I'm going to be about an hour from that address this weekend. Maybe I should swing by. I sent another email this morning asking him to call or email me to discuss.

Sucks that happened. Best you can do is obviously never use them again. Give them negative feedback online (like here.) But for those who think you should just take it because that's how life is these days???? Attitudes like that is why things are like this, and why companies can do business like this and stay in business. Mistakes happen, how they handle the mistake is what's important. It's called customer service.....sort of extinct these days I think it left with common sense.

by they way 4wheelparts.com has never screwed up any of my tire orders.:)
