Do the oem sliders bolt right on with the plastic rear bumper? I was under the impression they required something extra or additional hardware but I could be mistaken.

Both would require trimming a plastic bumper. Seems like a matter of personal preference. I bet the Bestops are cheaper, though.

They are both going to cost me about the same.

I don't mind trimming the bottom of the bumper.

Hmm. I was under the impression that they bolted right on. I expected to have to buy some bolts possibly and maybe trim the bumper

I put factory bed sliders with Moto-Built frame brackets on my Mojave, it is a bolt up job and they all require trimming the rear bumper. The trimming is where we see how good a fabricator a person is, I trimmed mine with a razor blade knife and have a very close even fit not requiring a plastic trim piece. I have seen some pictures of installs that saws were used on plastic bumper looked pretty rough. I only had access to bed rails not frame bracket and motobuilt frame bracket was a great price and supposedly heavier built. I would lean factory as I know what the finish is and the step thing is not a deal breaker for me as using the Bestop step will still have you basically putting your shoes against side of Jeep. They both look very similar in design and mounting…..Jack

Can you please send me a link to the MotoBilt parts? I can't seem to find it.

Are you saying that even if he gives me everything he took off his Rubicon, I will need to buy additional parts?

Thanks

Nope, there are brackets that fasten to the frame and the rails, and some hardware identical to what you can see in the Bestop instructions. As long as he gives you the four pieces and hardware associated with it you are good. I bought a pair of step rails cheap from Benny at Moparparts.com, but liked the Motobilt frame brackets made thicker steel and continuous welds not just tabs, but sixty bucks more a pair not painted.
They are Motobilt part number MB1111, found in the JT parts section near the bottom. I am not saying there is anything wrong with the factory or Bestop frame brackets just that I had a choice and I went Motobilt…..Jack

Either way. thank you for the information.

Now I know to confirm that he will be sending me the brackets also. If he isn't, then its something else to consider. More cost involved in going with the OEM sliders.

Thanks again - Don

Attached is the list of parts you will need if you are replacing your stock Mojave plastic rear bumper with a Rubi metal bumper and bedside sliders. Hope this helps someone. Cheers, Joel
