Anybody have any thoughts on this lift kit with the m9386 shocks and the 9208 steering stabilizer? I’m thinking of installing it myself and just paying for an alignment.

Skyjacker is more on the value end when it comes to lift kits. This is usually by omitting something that other kits would normally come with.

The kit you list looks decent but I would add a set of adjustable front lower control arms and a front adjustable track bar before calling that a complete kit.

It boils down to budget and what your use is for. If just want something to run around town in for a few years, it is probably OK. If you want a quality kit, wheel, tow and other things, look elsewhere.

If you "need" a steering stabilizer with any lift kit, there is an issue with geometry and alignment. For example, I am running 37's with a net of about 4.5" of lift with the stock steering stabilizer. 80mph on the highway requires three fingers on the wheel.

I have run SJ on two Jeeps in the last 15 years and would not install one on my Gladiator if someone gave me a kit.

My Skyjacker lift which I bought used has served me well over 20k miles.
Even tire wear, no death wobble, drives straight. Don't be afraid of fixed length control arms. SJ has done a good job on the geometry.

I can't vouch for those shocks but if you're gonna wheel it, spend a little money there on some real performance shocks.

Your lift (up to 3.5") should have
Coil springs front and rear,
Front LCAs, fixed or adjustable.
Front adjustable track bar,
Sway bar links front and rear.
Bump stops front and rear.
Either rear UCAs or a driveshaft carrier bearing spacer.
Shocks or shock relocation brackets.
Rear track bar relocation bracket.

Don't get a rear track bar. The rear axle is far less sensitive to offset with a lift.
Instead get a rear track bar relocation bracket and use it with the factory rear track bar. That will vastly improve your ride quality and keep the rear axle centered.

I went with basically the same lift on mine, a diesel. I added the front upper and lower control arms to build the kit similar to the MOPAR lift. It really improved the ride over stock.

It was a decent brand way back when but lift kits were new all together back then. I put it with the likes of Rancho , Rough country and a few others . It was more of an entry level kit then. Springs were known to sag . They may of cured it , who knows and who cares to chance it . There are some others I would use so you don't have to replace the parts as you get more experienced.

Posting just to Follow. I just bought the 2.5 inch front and rear all spring lift. It's a mild lift just to run around with mild wheeling. I'm interested to see your experience. I did a big(ish) lift and big tires and wheeled (and beat) the crap out of an XJ. Still have it but my insane wheeling days are behind me now LOL
