So in my effort to cut weight at every possible mod, I'm looking into Ti nuts! They are less than half the weight of OEM nuts, and look cool as a bonus.

I know they're not cheap. I know I won't "feel the difference." I know plenty of people don't care about this topic.

What do you guys think?

Looks like 5 OEM lugs would be .88 lbs. Titanium, .43 lbs, less than half the weight!

Yes there are cheaper things to spend money on, or better places to save weight, but I just like knowing each part is exactly what I want. I'm OCD and picky and dumb like that.

Looking at these:

or these:
https://solisracinggroup.com/jeep-dodge-performance-parts/open-ended-lug-nuts-titanium/

Also I'd imagine that the Ti nuts would look better after a year of use, on and off the Jeep, than say my Teraflex nuts, or OEM, or Gorilla. I've had them all, and NONE (save for maybe OEM) look great after even 6 months.

Heck, can't fault a fellow for trying to lose weight - uh, the Jeep, that is. And there's the cool factor. You won't save but ~ half a pound, but still............
I have to be honest, it's possibly something I'd even do just because.
Gotta offset the steel tailgate ladder I have installed, and the 2" front receiver.........

I hate how factory lug nuts - and most others - look after a few months, especially with our winters.

Factory look NOT terrible at best, but some sweet black aftermarket spline drives look like trash 3-6 months after I open the box and install them. Not just once, but every time. SO,
Ti will give me:
Weight savings
Appearance improvement
Longer lasting lug nuts (the nuts and threads themselves)
A one up cool factor over my friend @ajkaz who thinks I'm (lug)nuts... ?

It's not like I'm trying to talk you guys into how much better a bluetooth winch line is over a synthetic or steel... lol

I wonder if back in the day, the first guy to throw a synthetic line on his winch boasted of the weight savings and corrosion resistance... and was met with pure flamage... ? ?

you would fit in over at the lotus forum :) simplify and add lightness
I am not worthy lol... BUT yeah, back in my autocross days, gutting interiors, removing unnecessary bolts and just adding spot welds, lol... cutting out sheet metal just because...

You haven't lived unless you're flown a Miata at redline across a cracked and crumbly tarmac kissing cones as you crush your previous time AND your buddy's VW R32 time...

ahhhh memories...

Good natured trolling aside… I’m onboard the plan of paying attention to weight savings. But if you sort by weight savings per dollar spent, this is gonna be near the bottom of the list. Tires, wheels, bumpers, tools, general unnecessary loadout will be at the top

I’ve done ti bolts on weight weenie road bikes and even there it’s for bragging rights only
