Tomball TX dealership bait and switch?

Anyone ever delt with this dealership?

I like my gladiator but it is not gecko green. I have the green light from the wife to swap out to a gecko green truck if I can find a deal where no additional money needs to be paid. I found the below overland on Tomball’s site and asked for information. I did receive a call from a sales person who was going to check stock and confirm pricing but he did not call back. My emails have also gone unanswered. This would be a several hour drive for me so I wanted concrete info. They do have what appears to be a lot of negative Facebook reviews of bait and switch situations.

Guess if I were you, I'd feel better about it if the listing showed an actual picture of the truck instead of a generic computer rendering.

When we got our jeep from Autonation, we had our own financing so there was no reason to run our credit. Just a cash sale transaction, everything else would be with the credit Union. Well right when everything was signed and we were leaving I start getting all kinds of notifications that my credit is being ran. 5 different banks in total and the finance manager is the one that did it. Autonation has very shady people working for them.

User error to post the pic three times above. All pictures of the truck on their website come from Jeeps own web site. It’s the pictures you can view as you build the truck interior/exterior.

If you go to JEEP.COM, you can can search inventory. It will show either "on lot" or "in transit". It is real time and in my experience it seems to be accurate. You can search up to 200 mile radius.

I guess I’m a bit naive to dealerships. I have bought just a few vehicles and never had any issues whatsoever. Seems like a business the size of a dealership would in general be a safe bet excluding all the add on protection plans when finalizing a deal. I would expect shadiness from a private party vs such a public place.

There is a Gecko Green gladiator on the lot at mac Haik here in Austin/Georgetown if thats closer for you. I drive by it every day and I know it was there about 45 minutes ago.

I have found a few near me but they are mostly in the upper 50’s. I need something closer to upper 40’s.

Price is a whole different animal. Never pay attention to a dealers website price, they are very misleading. There is another thread going on about that.

You never know, they may have had it briefly but if they did, I'm sure it sold quickly. You have to get lucky right now to get your hands on a specific used vehicle, and even if you move quickly, chances are somebody beat you to the dealership by an hour and bought it out from under you.

I'd be very suspicious of the price. I'll bet it's with a bunch of incentives you don't qualify for. When I bought mine in Feb 2020 there was almost $9,000 in incentives and they listed the sale price on the website with the incentives. Without the incentives the actual price of mine would of been around what they are listing the Overland for and mines a Base model.

I agree definitely a stock pic. Dealers in MD do this alot when it's in transit or even being built or don't have it. I never go with a dealer who cannot confirm if a vehicle is on there lot and provide a out the door price. Good luck sir!
