You have to sacrifice a dozen 10mm sockets to the GODS by throwing them to different places in the garage, and dropping a few in the engine bay. This way when you are missing the one you are working with. Just look around and you will find one that was sacrificed.
Or just go to Harbor Freight on the days they are giving these out for free! They allow one free item each day (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Warning, they do go fast! Don't wait until Sunday or they might be gone!

I've got the Pittsburgh version of this. I've been meaning to build a glass front case for the shed. "In Case the Invisible Chupacabra Eats another 10mm break glass" sort of thing.

We don't need complete sets, just the ones we need. Suspension, shocks, steering, body, baling wire, zip ties, electrical tape, voltmeter . Think about what can go wrong and your ability to fix it. If something big fails you are probably not going to fix it. I carry my AAA card, cell phone and a Visa card.

Couple feet of electrical wire too. Not that wiring or connectors in a Jeep would ever need to be replaced. (Cough, cough, powersteeringpump, cough, cough.) Locking pliers for brake lines.

A spool of primary wire and a pile of crimp connectors is a must have.

I've never seen the icon set as a giveaway. We'll have to watch out for it!

Speaking of harbor freight, this week they have the US General small toy box.... I meant toolbox. It's cheap and it doesn't lock. I wrap up on you around mine to keep the lid closed. They have it on their parking lot sale, through October 11th.. today. Color coordinate with your Gladiator, I did.

Oh hey fellow local...

I have a handful of those mini HF boxes. They're good for drill bits, small parts and one on my desk as an organizer.

As far as I know, they've been included in the giveaway item twice, which is impressive since they were just released in September of last year. I picked up two during the first 3-day event. At the most recent giveaway, I picked up one on a Saturday and came back on Sunday to find them already gone. I kept two sets for myself, and the rest will make great Christmas presents, birthday gifts, etc.

It's funny how many people find good uses for those toolboxes. I see them in offices and other random places. The ladies seem to use them for their crafting tools, etc.

Now, if Harbor Freight came out with a mini-Icon box, then I'd be all over it!

I need to grab me one of those as a giveaway. I never seem to get any of their giveaways anymore unless its step bits or mini plastic clamps.

Yesterday I cleared out my old stacking toolbox in the corner of the cellar that I haven't gone near in years. I had at least 4 mixed up sets of their cheapo Pittsburgh 1/4" drive ratcheting screwdrivers. They used to give those away a lot. If I lost bits or the screwdriver broke (frequently) they got replaced at the next sale.

Harbor Freight has really improved their free gift promotions in the last few years. They have also given away the Icon socket adapter 4-piece set which is currently retailing for $16.99. That's another very useful tool.

Yeah, that's a good one and already have it lol.

I almost always wind up getting the to be or just was freebie. Just my luck.

It's like going into Jos. Banks years ago to buy a suit and paying full price for one and not getting 4 suits for free. 😂

Now that's a freebie I could get behind. That and universal joints.
But the 10mm is wasted on me. Knock on wood, but I still have every 10mm in every set of sockets and wrenches I have.

Yeah, I haven't lost any sockets either. I cracked an Icon socket a few years ago, but had it warrantied. I don't close a tool drawer until all of my sockets/wrenches are returned.

Im always losing tools. Kids, wife, me. Someone is always raiding the tool chest for something they need and it usually lands in a kitchen drawer. Or a bathroom drawer. Or somewhere else. Thus, not many pricey regular type tools.
