I know we have the bag...but I am always thinking it would be really nice to be able to strongly secure the freedom panels in the bed without worrying about scratching them up
So you happen to be out and about and decide to remove the panels - uh, where do you put them?
Even if I was home and decided to remove them, I don't really have a place to stow them with my garages so FULL LOL but seriously, you find yourself out there, the rain stops, the sky clears, the temps hit 80 and you want the panels out - where do people stow them while on the road?

So far I just put them in the backseat ....I put a towel between them so they don't scratch....but a bed solution would be great....maybe guys know something out there

There was a user that made a tonneau that fit his two freedom tops on the front forward part of the tonneau cover. Looked nice and seemed to function well. I kinda feel like lots of people would expect the top (freedom and back) to be easily stored in the truck bed since....it's a truck bed.

Why not use the bag and put them in the bed? The bag does not move around much and you could always strap them down?

That's the thing I'd wonder about - hit a pavement dip and the truck bounces up - or around here, just driving on Des Moines streets you need a Jeep just to get through some of the local streets. There's a highway near me I refuse to drive anything nice on - even the patched patches have been patched. Train tracks parallel the highway pretty close and trains derailed TWICE in three years and loaded grain cars fell onto the highway and totally busted it up.
If a Gladiator can take that highway and not knock your teeth out, FCA has done something big. I'd be afraid of panels being trashed on that highway unless they were bolted to the truck bed.

The bag is pretty well padded and there is a divider between the panels. I live in the north east and the roads are no better here. My tops are fine in the bag in the bed. They fit pretty tightly between the wheel wells so moment is limited.

That's good to know. A person could rig a strap between the loops in the bed to hold things even more I suppose, but it sounds like there shouldn't be any real problem. The bag that came with my wife's 90 Camaro t-top was nice and it literally strapped into the back end of the car to secure them in place in the bag. Being glass it was a concern but not even a slight bounce once they were secured.

I keep my tops in the bag, in the bed, all the time. I have the linex bed liner and haven't noticed the bag moving around at all. Don't even use any straps. Have even been off roading that way with no problem. I have black tops though and might be a bit more concerned if they were the body color ones.

I go tops off, doors off, windshield down, and no tonneau cover 24/7. I am retired so my JT doesn’t stay out 8 hours a day for a week outdoors. I have a carport, not a garage so I bought me a truck cover to shelter my JT when not in use. I don’t have the bells and whistles, so it is pretty much standard equipment, not even a tow hitch. I use the sunshades during the blazing hot summer months to cut down on UV exposure. I bought tube doors, but I haven’t installed them since I like being doorless all around. During inclement weather, I use my wife's RAV4 (normally for picking up the grandkids at school). I lock up my valuables in the glove compartment and don’t carry things that might get stolen. I’ve owned several work trucks in the past which I sold and bought this to have fun with the grandkids. I bought the JT because I wanted a Jeep, a truck, and a convertible vehicle, all rolled up into one, instead of three. We live out in the desert, so it gets blazing hot, freezing cold, monsoon rains with little humidity.

I live in northern Minnesota.

In addition to my Gladiator and wife's Subaru Outback, we have a 2021 Celica that has never been driven in the winter.

In May the hardtop comes off and I leave Vlad the Glad in the garage if it looks like rain. to have the third car in the summer.

Once it warms up in June or July the doors come off too. Stays that way until September.

I do have a bikini soft top that I carry in case I am caught out in the rain. Something like this. It woks well with doors either on or off.
