Update:

Jeep Center estimate comes in at $925......wow! replace rear bumper, sensor and sensor harness and tow hook! I asked about keeping rear bumper and he said they charge a "$150 CORE fee"....????

I would say they are looking for $$ on both sides - Just high enough to get it over deductible - Low enough that if you wanted to go back to the couple they won't balk to much. If your that worried about it - Get it fixed. Bumpers take a beating just by parking by Braille -

That's cheap. Someone (hit and run) backed into an 08 Sierra I had and pushed in the passenger side of the bumper in to the fender a little and it was over $3k and the rear plastic bumper cover on the 13 Tahoe was scraped up and damaged and that was like $1,200 to fix.

I think I would take the money for the damage, spend it on another JT upgrade that I have been wanting, and leave the bumpeer like it is. Put some 303 on the plastic and you will barely see it. The red on the hooks - touch up paint, or buff it out with a buffer, wax it, and leave it.

bumper cores are pretty standard nowadays... headlights, tailights, all kinds of body parts are going that direction.

like others. I'd just buy a take off bumper or upgrade, be easier and cheaper.

Good news, no CORE charge for tow hook or bumper.....so will be having them throw both in bed when done!

I think I would have the bumper sprayed with Line X Replace the sensor and call it a day.

Yep. Red will get scratched up after use anyway.

Which generally makes sense when you get NEW parts. Core charges usually go with refurbished parts.

I've painted my front and rear hooks so many times on my JKU you just about can't see the grain of the casting any more. The sensor is another matter and I suppose given the "unique" nature of the gladiator right now, keeping it straight and clean is a priority so scuffed bumpers and the like hurts resale and all.

I don't mind so much if it's me messing things up in the line of ME using it as _I_ intended, but when someone else does it, they will fix it.

I've been on both ends of the, "let's keep this off of the insurance company's books so my rates don't go up" situation. It's worked every time. Always, always, always get ins. info. first and a police report (if your state requires it) Just. In. Case. If the reverse sensors, cross path detection, and lane assist all still work, I'd pocket the money and buy an aftermarket steel bumper (as long as I didn't lose any of the aforementioned tech., which the aftermarket may not be caught up yet). Otherwise, I'd have the tow hooks re-powdercoated (both, so they match), repair the other damage as best I could and buy other Jeep parts. Good luck.

Update:
So parts are in, and all will be replaced on Friday! Couple was super responsive in getting us a Cashiers check based on the estimate from dealer. Easy Peasy!
