OK folks, looking for some help here. Searched BTW and can't find a definitive answer. After a tire rotation, my "service TPMS system" light comes on and shows that my front left sensor isn't registering. I've drove over 50 miles yesterday and still didn;t register. Sporadically, the light will go off, and all is well.....for a while. Then the warning comes back on, and again indicates front left tire isn't registering. Now, the light is staying on AND all 4 tires are registering pressure (super weird). Ran to local tire store and they checked all 4 wheels with their wireless gizmo and said all sensors are good and registering. Checked tire pressure for last 3 days, all is good. No slow leaks, nails etc. Pressure is right where it should be and is stable. So here's the question. Is it possible for TPMS sensors to slowly go bad or do they go all at once? Would you have the front left sensor replaced in hopes of fixing it? SMH over what to do next. Thoughts / ideas?
Thanks
P.S. - there is no TPMS re-set button on Gladiators as many of the "expert" bloggers on the internet say there is. I can't believe how many "jeep mechanics" and dealers make this claim.

its battery is probably dying.

How old are the sensors?

To have one start acting up after a tire rotation indicates a sensor issue. It could just be a battery going out, and the sensor could have been damaged during the rotation. It could also be the RF hub going out.

I had a similar problem a while back. Turned out the computer was trying to read the TPMS in the spare. Took the spare off the tailgate and everything worked fine. I then remounted the spare with the valve stem as high up as possible.

Another vote for the battery fading. If you are going to replace one, replace them all as the remainder may not be far behind.

Just make sure you get the sensors for your early TPMS system. They made a in sequence change in June 2021 to a different style sensor.

You can air down that l one in question and see if it responds. I would go for a ride first to be sure the system is alive first.

I had a guy at a dealership (Granger Motors) tell me that you couldn't add key fobs to a WJ, that they were factory programmed, you could only have two and if you didn't have the originals, you were in trouble.
Went to a lock and safe business and they programmed in 3 fobs for me - two used from prior WJs I owned and one new one from the internet
Yeah, a guy at the dealership shop told me I was out of luck. Took that safe business less than 5 minutes.

So, after 2 weeks of intermittent readings from my TPMS, I finally had to replace one of the sensors. The strange thing was that it started showing readings for all 4 tires BUT the TPMS light stayed on the dash (solid). Took it on the highway and drove 10+ miles above 60 MPH and it went off. Viola! Fixed right? Ahh, no, it came back on the following day. Took it to Discount Tire and rolled the dice on a new $60.00 sensor for the left front tire (dealer wanted $217.00 btw) and problem is fixed. Can't explain the intermittent readings or warnings, but seems like these sensors can act flakey before giving up the ghost, whereas I always thought they died suddenly. Discount Tire for the win!!!
Thanks to all who chimed-in on my issue.

I bought 5 TPMS sensors for a 2020 when i owned it - for under $130 for all 5.
60 seems a bit steep unless these have more than doubled in price in 4 years.

No way a single 2020 sensor is 217

Those are the installed prices for the sensors. Discount Tire quoted me $60 each, Sam's Club was a little cheaper at around $45 each.

So basically 30 for breaking it down, swapping sensors and reinstalling. Not bad compared to dealership prices.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/395162263662 - These are the same as OEM for $46 for all 4. I had to buy these for my new wheels as the ones used to mount my tires from Extreme Terrain weren't working properly. Only 2 registered. So I got these and had Discount Tire remove the others and install register these. Worked perfect.
