Looks like I can get out of my Gladiator at a good price... I’m just having trouble finding anything to replace it with.
(I’m in south East PA if anyone has any dealers they know of that are “dealing”)

Same boat here with replacement availability.
Carvana's is $38.5k for my G. Vroom $38k. I guess I missed the bubble or it already popped! I have contacted three dealers within 70 mile range last weekend and nada..nothing. No dealers here in Los Angeles county area carry the specs I want.
Besides, even selling my G at $38.5 I'll be at a loss due to taxes and fees I already paid.
Some of the folks here were very lucky!

Talking with dealers in Delaware, SC and Wisconsin all are at MSRP minus the $750 Sport S incentive. None of them are dealing even with Tread Lightly. I have reached out to Gupton and TriCity for a quote but since we are close to 2022 model year I may just wait until fall until current crazyness settles down a bit.

Only downside I see to that is the current trade in values may not be like they are at the moment.

therein lies the rub.

We downsized 3 vehicles to 2. I dumped my '12 Expedition EL to Carmax (Carvana was $2k more, but I had to travel to CA and it wasn't worth that risk) a few months ago. I had been searching for probably 6 months for "the right one."

Threw in the info for my Audi Q3 into Carvana and Carmax a month later. Got a lovely offer from them. Went to my local Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram dealer for a JT. Not pleased with the service there, so I went to a nearby dealer. Showed them my offer sheet from Carvana, the dealer offered $100 less than Carvana. Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy.

Our requirements were simple (imo): 4x4, heated seats, auto, tow package/max tow (6k+ tow capacity), sunroof (or convertible). Only two vehicles fit that: Tacoma and Gladiator. My wife has wanted a Tacoma for years.

We were looking at a Tacoma TRD Off-Road. MSRP with our options was $44k. Lowest ADM was $2500 in Bellingham. Other dealers were charging $4k-10k. And the trucks weren't even on the lot.

Then we test drove a TRD Pro. No thanks. While nothing competes with Toyota reliability, it was uncomfortable to drive, both physically and mechanically. And after experiencing the heated steering wheel on the JT, my wife was 90% sold on the JT.

We test drove a red Willys. I was okay with it, just not our first pick of color. Test drove a Mojave. Liked it, but I'm not going to spend $60k+. I remember the days when trucks were under $20k, and I'm not *that* old.

I would have been fine with the Willys, but finding them with the right options and color was the hard part. I ended up just bumping up to the Rubicon, and also avoiding upgrading the Willys to Rubicon level in aftermarket items.

I spent roughly $14k (in MSRP #s) more just to avoid Toyota and their stupid dealer markup for a Tacoma (and got a lot more truck). Money talks, Toyota.

I was able to sign and drive the same day, no waiting for "the allotment truck" to deliver my vehicle. My JTR, built on Jeep.com, had an MSRP of $58k. What I paid was closer to Tacoma pricing. I got my color choice, options I wanted, and more. Would I be happier if the truck was near $40k? Sure, but that's not going to happen in today's world.

I just checked Vroom again as I’m waiting to try and time it with the new Gladiator delivery and gave me a price of $30,810. I can’t believe these prices although I’m not complaining. I paid $37,000 out the door for my Willys 5 years ago.

Make sure to check all the online dealers. Locality affects the quote as well. For me, Carvana had the higher offer for both vehicles. They just don't have a dealer close to me.

Print out all the offers. Show the dealer your highest one.

Funny story: We pulled up to a dealer in the Q3 and one of the sales guys goes "nice car." I (half jokingly) shoot back, "wanna buy it? I'll sell it for $33k." He replies, "have you got any offers?" I answer, "yeah, for $36k."

And then my wife starts laughing, ruining the joke.

We paid $30k for it in 2019. KBB was $27k. DAMMIT, WOMAN!

I’ve been still trying, but no real deals on new ones to be had. My only hope now is to see what the new month (June) incentives may be but I suspect they will only get worse, not better.

I got yet another email from KBB that my JT's value has increased 5%. I checked Vroom/Carvana/KBB Instant Cash, seems the best offer I'm getting is $43,740, which is pretty damn close to what I paid for the thing (out the door + extended warranty) a year and a half ago. I think I'd be out about $2k.

It's not necessarily a no-brainer because it's still a net loss, but it's incredibly tempting. I could bank the cash and buy a brand new one in a year or so. We do not need the truck -- it's nice to have and I enjoy it, but I could do without for a year or so if it meant I maybe get to upgrade to a Rubicon or the plug-in hybrid in the future.

Alternatively, there's a Rubicon at a nearby dealer listed at $54k that's basically my dream truck. I have no idea if they would come down from sticker while paying top dollar for my trade, but I suppose it couldn't hurt to go see what they'll do. The tax savings makes a trade-in much more appealing.

I've paused my quest to bank on this crazi ess. I'll settle for what I have and keep enjoying it for now. This shopping thingy takes a lot of my time. Lol.
I gave my info to three dealerships. IF I get a call....maybe I will invest another $2.5k tops for the options I want.

Dang I should see what I can get for mine.... Only if I can get a new one with Max-Tow package, Aux switch hardtop. Might be time to pull out the impact wrench and swap back to stock parts. I only have about a 1000 miles of warranty left ? In 17 months.

Do it. I upgraded today from an overland to a Mojave and paid out $600 more! The dealer gave me incredible trade in for overland ($48,425). Maybe Bc it’s the last day of the month or something. I had bought it when Covid first started for $37,500. I think I made out pretty well.
