Went on a quick trip to Clarksville Va this past weekend. Humidity was pretty average with temps in mid to high 80s and mid 70s at night. I had a camp site that was in the sun for 1/2 the day.

I turned the Wave on about three hours before climbing in. Definitely got rid of the humidity! I was amazed how much water was being drained out. I unfortunately for got my thermometer to measure inside the tent. Let’s just say the wife was under the blankets complaining about being cold.

I plan on getting a thermo blanket to wrap around the ac duct. The amount of condensation on it was crazy.

Interesting real‑world test! Curious how noisy this unit gets when you’re trying to sleep inside the tent.

We also sleep with a fan going in the tent to move the air and for white noise. I can say you can barely hear the Wave over the fan. I think I hear more of the air moving from it than the machine itself. Outside the tent you can definitely hear it running.

I went cheap and bought the wave with out the battery for now. Most of my camping are at electric sites… but i watched what it was drawing, it peaked little over 500w.

Interesting point I had my fridge and the wave on the same power cord. The wave would through a low voltage code once the fridge compressor turned on. I ended up put the Wave on its own cord.

Got one and am looking forward to using it. Great report. Thank you!

What insulation are you planning for the hoses?

I’m all about “to each his own” and people have different needs and tastes…… But, come on man! At what point do you just sell you’re Jeep and just go get a darn RV?

A portable AC costs a bit less than a standalone camper and the Jeep goes more places.

I get you're being a little tongue in cheek.

As much as I hate waiting, I've wrote off camping in the summer. It takes too much money and equipment to be comfortable on this side of the country between May and October.

If my wife is comfortable we will camp more. Pretty tough to be comfortable in NW Louisiana from mid April to late November.

Lived and did farm work every summer. Humidity is no joke when you work on a squash farm picking off of trellises in it. Not so bad hauling hay but those squash vines rung me out and hung me out to soak.
