Had a weird issue over the weekend. The issue started out where I only saw the Android Auto screens that would constantly resize. Usually turning the truck off, waiting for a few minutes, and turning it back on restores everything. That didn't work. Held buttons down, saw the Jeep logo and then everything became more weird. The Android Auto screens were the same size, and resizing, but other Android buttons were gone (first image). Then a Uconnect Screen appeared but only to restore apps and then fail (screen 2). Start/stop and button resetting didn't do anything. Finally made it to our destination, where it sat for a few hours. Went to leave, turned the Jeep on, and everything was fine. Is there a way to do a cold reboot without having to pull over for awhile? Some glitches we've found workarounds, like the volume knob and steering wheel volume controls. However, if we were actively using navigation this would've had a more negative impact.. I did a search didn't see anything within the first 3 pages. Thanks for any feedback

Same situation here. Dealer Service Writer suggested using the power and Tuning buttons together until screen goes blank.
Doesn't help if you are using the Jeep's Nav. As the whole thing starts again.

I've kind of given up on the U-Connect system. I turn off bluetooth for the phone and use it separately from the U-Connect. Waze or google maps for road nav, and BackCountry Navigator for off road.
All the CDJR forums I've been on looking for a fix have had similar issues and no resolution.
Hopefully we'll eventually see an aftermarket resolution that doesn't have similar issues... maybe. lol
Hands down the worst experience I've had with any Jeep/Ram vehicle. I don't recommend a post '23 Jeep to anyone who asks about mine.

I still got a recall on mines(2024 sport), never went in to get it replaced because they have to program the miles to match the unit(Some form of sorcery they do lol IDK). At the time when i had traded my diesel i did not this they would change things so much.I had it in mind that i could get the Stinger unit but nope Jeep decided to update whole thing.

Happened to me a few weeks after I got my '26. I ended up having to do the two button reset but you have to make sure you do it when you have good cellular coverage because it seems the head unit has to download data to reload. I think mine went south because I took it camping in the mountains there was ZERO cell reception for a long weekend and I decided not to bring my Starlink Mini. I probably disconnected my Jeep from the outside world mid an OTA update. Everything is fine now and has been working great. The only issue I have is I have a work iPhone and a personal iPhone and SOMETIMES when I bring them in the car together my unit decides it doesn't want to talk to either. It's not all the time or even that frequent but when it happens I just turn bluetooth off my work phone and plug the personal phone in through the USB C interface and everything goes back to normal.

Mine did that where screen size kept going small then large over and over. I also would not have the other buttons down the left side like climate, radio etc...I did some research and whenever that would happen I could hit the "auto" on the lower climate dial, then hit temp up, then down and auto again and it brought everything back to normal without a reboot. I possible hit down then up on the temp, I don't remember but it works every time for me when that happens.

I have had all kinds of glitchy behavior with the Uconnect in my ‘24. I usually use CarPlay. It works just fine in my ‘26 Durango work car.

Sometimes when I reboot it, the left icons don’t come back. It’s pretty weird.

Had this issue show up today, but the reboot didn't work. Was close to the dealership, and they were able to get it in right away.
Not sure if the tech tried a reboot (it's still doing the same thing).
Dealer is ordering a new radio. Said it will take about 15 days to get here.
Paws crossed this takes care of the issues.

Exchange radio installed Thursday. Will see how it works out. Hoping it was actually refurbished and I'm not the second "test dummy". lol
On the Wrangler forum a couple of guys have noted that they didn't start having issues until attempting to update the Navigation maps.
I'm going to give it a few weeks to see if this radio is stable. If it is, then I'll look to see if the Nav maps need updating, and give it another shot. Prior radio was never able to complete the map updates.
Maybe part and parcel to the issues?

Meantime the pre '24 oem whip antenna parts have shown up, so that is the next project. :)

To those having issues, do you allow your Jeep to connect to your home wi-fo for OTAs?
Yes. However, I think the WiFi may be part of my issues. I am going to turn off the OTA updates so it isn’t always scanning for WiFi and see if that helps.

That’s an interesting perspective. The only time I had an issue was when I was out of cellular coverage for a few days and I think I cut an OTA short. As soon as I got 5 bars the damn thing finished downloading and reset and I’ve been fine since. I have it connected to my home Starlink so any OTAs get in quickly and in one shot.

Same issue with my 26 sahara. Noticed some of the guys on the Wrangler forums have the same issue with this system, replacing the head unit does not work. Seems like a stuck module.

But this seems to be the interim solution:
Reddit link.

Basically hit the AUTO button on your hvac and that seems to correct it.

I've also had siri hang.. So the radio gets really quiet.

Honestly this system has more bugs in it then Northern Ontario.

(Kudos to Dana, they mentioned it a few posts up.)

Dealer replaced the radio on Thursday. Will give it a couple of weeks before seeing if it needs a map update. That will also help determine if the issue is radio software or map update software related.

There is a difference between a system software update, and a Navigation Map update. System software updates are very small files and quick to download/install.
Navigation updates are in the GB size (last one that attempted to download for my truck was a bit over 16GB).

Was posted on the Wrangler forum, that the Navigation software can be downloaded to a flash drive from the UConnect web site and updated. But I think that was for a '24 Jeep Compass. I couldn't find anything for the '24 and up JL/JT. Going to call them on Monday to find out about this possibility.
A flash drive update would be much easier for me.

I’ve had numerous update issues with my ‘25 Mojave X, even after having the unit replaced abt 6 weeks ago. Looks nice but extremely glitchy. Geeked out on us on a road trip and was extremely frustrating. Backup camera freezes and/or doesn’t work at all sometimes. Disappointing to say the least.
