Upgraded my phone holder to a good one

I bought a Bulletpoint phone mount for the Gladiator. It seems to be very well made, it has a metal base and the stem that holds the phone is very sturdy. This one should last a while. The one I was using before was a $35 special on Amazon and it broke after only 5 months. I'm hoping this one lasts much longer.

I’m using the bulletpoint and Rubigrid system as well. I have phone holders both the clamp Style and the magnet style. I also have an iPad mount, and my Midland GMRS micro mobile radio mounted on it. It’s a very versatile, high-quality system.

Sure you can but the point of CarPlay is you don’t need to see your phone.

I would assume some people have certain apps that you can't use through the radio screen. Also probably a little safer not having to look so far down when you get a notification that you just want to give a quick glance with a side eye.

Nice pickup op. I just ordered this weekend. I’m doing this mount to get my phone to a different spot than I keep it now and I can get wires out of the way. I will be running my cable through my dash to keep CarPlay.

I looked at several options and decided on the OffRoam vent mount. Very sturdy and convenient placement.

Not everything is run through CarPlay or Android Auto. Some people like to run apps like terrain GPS apps or OBDII monitoring apps either separate or in conjunction with the CarPlay apps on the radio. Not a either or thing.
