6 months ago, FCA employees were sure the Hemi was gone.
A bit different when all they had to do was extend out what was already there......
The JT would be all new.

6 months ago, in the Ram 1500, it was.

Putting 1000 shots on goal and getting 1 through, doesn't make you Nostradamus.
Like even a squirrel with anosmia and that is blind can find a nut with enough searching?

You would think that something could be done to the 3.6 for more HP.

The 3.6 needs more TQ, in the JL/JT

People, myself included, tend to want to lug trucks and SUV's, on road and offroad.

You let the 3.6 wind out at 3500 and it'll hum right down the road.

Not a super pleasant offroad experience though.

I'm not making my point very well.

We can speculate and listen to what FCA employees say, but that doesn't mean things won't change.

(I'm not saying the JT is going to get a Hemi)

I understand what you're saying.

I certainly don't know every detail and plan. This random dude in Florida completely outside the industry definitely doesn't.

But I did know the Hemi was for sure going back into the Ram 3 months ago. I knew they went out for quoting 5 months ago. And they announced it a week ago. And they won't build it for another two months.

So, crash course to launch, still 7 months to simply start producing and installing what already existed, fit, and is capable.

It's a minimum of 18 months to make some of these other changes, like any Hemi in a Gladiator, that again, large amounts of the needed engineering is done for.

It was 3 years from Bronco to 392 Gladiator, where real engineering changes needed to happen.

Even the dudes on the line in Supplier Park and at Mobis will know 3-4 months ahead.

I’m not reading 14 pages lmao. I will say this, I had a 2019 392 challenger that I traded in for my gladiator. I love my gladiator and it’s the perfect vehicle for me.

But, I’d kill to have a 392 in my Mojave. The feel, sound and thrill of driving a big V8 is just so much fun. On summer nights I used to turn the radio off and cruise down the dirt roads listening to the engine.

The problem is Jeep makes them unattainable with their absurd pricing.

I can’t remember if I posted this here or not.

Ten 392 JLUs on the lot in Boone NC. No JTs. I’ll be up there tomorrow.

$100,000 each, I bet - at least some I see will be

Watch this -

Now I can say "told you so..........."

Doesn't matter what will fit. People who have no idea how automotive development, the life cycles and more work are the ones who keep "it's coming, there's no reason for it not to" and "demand will make it come"............... and they have all this emotion invested in it while those who know and explain are just haters and really don't know what they are talking about.

he's really reflecting every point I've ever brought up on this - but some run a poll and use that as proof it's going to happen, or some guy who isn't even directly connected to FCA says "it's coming".
Even people who work FOR or WITH FCA say - no it's not, but the arguments persist.

Dead topic - it's not going to happen. The guy in that video basically explains (though much better than I) why it's not going to happen.
Great and interesting video! Thank you for posting it.

Its pretty clear that any OEM can’t just switch gears on a dime, and start installing powertrains willy-nilly.
The return of the Hemi in the Ram was about as straight forward as it gets. Design (and testing) was in place.

If the H6 would fit, in my estimation it would already be available or near available for the JL and JT (aside of fitment challenges, a new powertrain also involves testing it in the new platform).

I don’t know if a V8 in the Gladiator would need to start out as a clean slate engineering project, with the JL V8 already in existence.

That aside, I understand the business aspect of having 3 years left in the production cycle of the JT, to not want to waste time and expenses for 2 of those years in development of an outlier that will only be valid for one year after.

I would stab someone in the eye with an ice pick for a 392 in my Gladiator . But,,, there is plenty of HP in a supercharged 3.6 that can't be found.
