I’m wondering if there will be a new Gladiator in the future? Have the sales been good enough to keep it around, or is this the only style there’ll be?

For every Youtuber claiming the JT is getting a Hemi there's at least 2 saying the JT is going away.
One of those groups is likely more right than the other. Sales have been in the septic tank the past few years. My thinking is they'll either 86 the JT entirely and leave pickups to Ram **or** come out with a SJ-looking Ram 1500 sibling like the Convoy concept and reboot the name.

Yeah, that ‘real Jeep’ argument……. It’s been around forever. I understand - I love my JT because it resembles a vehicle brand and style that has been around for decades - instantly recognizable.
Three scenarios -
1) the JT sales will be in the slumps enough for Stellantis to decide not to replace it.
2) sales are marginal and market research shows owners are using it more as a truck than a Jeep. Stellantis decides to build it along side the Dakota.
3) sales are good, the research shows many use it more as a Jeep, and Stellantis can’t wait to release a more off-road capable Gladiator, built in Toledo.
For me option 3 all day long, however, between option 1 and 2, I’d prefer 2 and still have a Jeep version PU available.
The Cadillac XLR was built at the Bowling Green KY Corvette plant and didn’t really resemble the Chevrolet for the most part.
it may be time to re-heat lunch now……

1 - I hope not! (but then, mine would then be a collectable some day)
2 - I'd honestly really love to see the numbers. I'm curious as heck. I can say here they are ued a lot as daily drivers - Jeeps that can tow and haul but are still a WRangler at heart. Florida - they are used as Jeeps. I see a whole lot of Gladiators around here now - most are not modified at all.
If it starts to look more like a truck and is patterned after Dakota or any other small truck, I'll just buy another truck - and it will not be unibody.

Yes, the Dodge Dakota is returning, with the 2026 Ram Dakota expected to be released, according to a YouTube video. While the Dakota was discontinued in 2011, Ram is bringing it back. It will likely be positioned between the compact Rampage and the full-size 1500. The new Dakota is expected to be built on a unibody platform, potentially shared with the Jeep Gladiator or the STLA large architecture, according to a YouTube video.
Now the problem I see with all of the stuff is that they are saying "it shares the unibody with the Gladiator - the Gladiator is not unibody. So, a 2026 Dakota can't share a unibody with a Gladiator. Where's that coming from??

Another sources says "it will be based on the Rampage platform being sold sold as a Ram 1200"
3 - MORE off-road capable? That would be interesting. The things I see them doing with the JT in Israel on their rocks - amazing. But making something that equals or exceeds our current capability - it will have to be solid axles - I mean - we can out-flex the crap out of a Bronco any day. IFS is ok, but not for the hardcore stuff and it's much higher maintenance (trust me - I've had a few IFS 4x4s)

The one source I found was a C&D report from 2023, speculating that the new Gladiator and new Dakota may share underpinnings. But as Body-On-Frame.
Edit: Not sure when this was published. It notes Body On Frame for the 2028 Dakota.

That would make a lot of people happy..
And of course, the sources I posted - we know how they can take something someone said and copy and paste but miss key words and suddenly the whole meaning is changed.
So I took the unibody with a grain of salt - that won't ever fly with a Gladiator anyway, but it's not that way now, so where'd they get it? Typo, I'd bet.
All I need is a Dakota sized truck anyway. I really like the Ram 1500s, but that's overkill for me at this time in my life.
