Just installed my Sunrider and it's great! But I had one question. I watched numerous videos, etc, but most are rather old and the door molding/weather stripping seems to have been changed on recent models.

I wanted to make sure that the rubber flap I circled here was not supposed to be behind the Sunrider rail. Does this look right to you?

Couple extra photos too . . .

On mine, that rubber piece is covered by the Sunrider rail.
Same
Rail covers the rubber

Thanks guys looks like just a few minutes more in the garage. Just took a test drive--this is great! Really quiet, no air leaks, easy operation.

PS: Thanks for the photo!

Neat feature, you can unlock and give it a little push as you take of from a light and it will flip open (under 25 mph). You can also close as you decelerate for close assist. I keep a sunshade installed in my jeep year round, so I have to reach out the window to manually lift the sunrider and pull forward to close, which is how I arrived at the above solution. This is my 3rd year with the sunrider installed. I run Freedom hard tops in the winter.

Sunrider is my favorite mod by far. Well engineered, and so easy to use.

Oh, the doggo loves it too.

Interesting--one of the videos I did not see before. Now I'm really confused! The only problem I ran into the first time is that after installing the top, those rubber deflectors in the front do not lay flat like they do in the video. So when I shut the door they get, for lack of a better term, "smushed." Rather than deforming the deflectors I'm going to give it a try with tucking them in.

I have mine installed with the rubber outside of the sunrider frame. Hmm...

Not sure if this applies, but in the earlier videos I saw the rubber was more of a u shaped channel than a flap. So the side rails fit right in. Somewhere along the line Jeep changed the design a little.

Anyone else find that the Sunrider rattles its ass off when it’s closed and the rear windows only (I let the dog hang out the window) are open? Mine had a different when-closed popping noise that I fixed but I wonder if this is another manifestation of that or a different issue simply caused by wind buffeting. Opening only the rear windows causes wind buffeting generally.

Glad to see this question pop up. The flap on my '23 is also on the outside, seems to pinch and offer little benefit when closing the door. Noticed when raining that flap really drops more water inside than even the usual annoying amount. The other frustration was watching the install videos to save time with the z clip process by installing the side brackets first, then to discover they changed to a loop and screw w/loctite setup. It is a better setup, and thats what I get for skipping the printed directions.
