We where driving down the road in Washington and had our Passenger Rear Tire come off without warning. Jeep at this time has said that they will not warranty the failure of the lug bolts shearing due to the tire size. 37”

Funny part they said I was heavily modified. Which by any standard is quite a laugh. As if a lift rims and tires are a normal for the vehicle. We do although have a ACCC canopy on the back.
Talking to a lawyer now to get options. Insanity abound as we’ve never abused this vehicle where not offroad, do visual inspections on the vehicle each day before we headed out and no sign of any issues.
We did have issues in the past with the dealer over tightening the lug bolts to the point of being unable to break them. In my view it seems as if the lug bolt ended up stretching due to over tightening and ended up in failure.

If you can prove no one ever took these rims off since they were put on at the factory then you could get it warrantied maybe. Soon as anyone (dealer included) took the rim off it's your word against stellantis. If a dealer breaks something that's between you and the dealer, that is not a warranty part.

Yes yet as with anything easily proven would be stretched lug bolts. This in turn could apply to any engine issues. Like we denied you warranty as we don’t know who last changed your air filter, oil etc.

That said failures of this type are due to as mentioned stretching of lug bolts, vehicle is 8months old. Using spacers have caused these issues as well. Honestly any other thing that are attached would have caused other damage like a twisted axle shaft. Way before a lug bolt failure. I am still working it through with the help of my lawyer.

If the dealership overtightened them, your beef should be with the dealership, not jeep. Or perhaps the tire shop that installed the tires (if it wasn't the Jeep dealer), because maybe they overtightened them. That's not a warranty issue, that's an abuse issue, even if it wasn't you. You should go after whoever caused damage to your rig. Of course, they all try to indemnify themselves, by telling you to retorque after 50 miles, so even that might not be fun. Someone screwed up, and should pay, but it doesn't sound like a defect (what warranty is for), just a shop mistake.

Even with the 37 that’s ridiculous. With stock tires and they have a camper hooked up to the hitch you would be probably causing the same amount of force on the wheel or close enough. That should not fail like it did.

Stretched bolts indicate abuse, not manufacturer defect. If the engine fails due to an out of spec air or oil filter they will not cover it under warranty just like if you ran it with out oil. Warranty covers manufacturer defects, not damage caused by shops (dealers are shops). If a dealer cracks your oil filter housing or breaks your lugs that's on the dealer not stellantis.

Your insurance might cover this too since it happened while driving.

I too do not think this is a warranty issue. Although, I do sympathize with you as any new vehicle with this sort of damage must be heart wrenching.

Pics of the damage?

This is my thought as well. Id argue that the stress of added weight with modifications is at least similar to a JT pulling a camper….

which also makes me want to check mine since I tow often.

I lost a wheel on my Dodge when someone tried to steel the wheels and got all the lugs off but the one that had the wheel lock so they gave up. I made it about 5 miles before all the studs sheared off and i lost the wheel.
