Did you cancel the extended warranty? If it is not used, you can usually get a refund.I bought the 60,000 mile warrenty July of 2019
The TSB 08-074-20 for the Stearing box was done in Oct of 2020.
At 45055 miles in Feb of 2024 I had an issue with the steering and took it in.
Here is word for word written on the work order:
CUSTOMER STATES ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LAMPS ARE ON.
CHECK AND ADVISE
TECH ROAD TESTED AND VERIFIED STEERING VERY LOOSE AND WHEEL OFF CENTER. TECH CHECKED STEERING
COMPONENTS AND FOUND PITMAN ARM NUT LOOSE. TECH REMOVED TRAC BAR AND NUT. TECH ADDED THREAD LOCK AND REINSTALLED TO FACTORY SPECS, REINSTALLED TRAC BAR, STRAIGHTENED STEERING WHEEL AND RE-INSTALLED ABS. TECH RE-ROAD TESTED AND RECHECKED OK.
BILL $432.34 DUE
I was told the warrenty did not cover the repair.
First line in the warranrt IF IT'S MECHANICAL-IT'S COVERED
Needless to say I was mad, went in and spoke to the man that sold me the warrenty nothing was done for me.
I called the waranty hotline twice and spoke to two broken English people that could not understand the problem.
I told the warranty salesman I had the TSB done by them and they would have been the only to have loosed those nuts.
That was in Feburary of 2024. From tht moment on I hated the Jeep Company.
I got rid of it last week.
The extended warranty didn't cover your claim because there was no part failure. The extended warranty is a service contract and not an extension of the factory warranty.
The problem was a result of poor service by the dealer tech. But, after three years, they are not going to admit to it and fix it for free.
