I thought it would do 6But if we put the 5.7L in the Jeep it's going to get 5mpg obviously because factors and variables that can't be defined and defy all logical comparisons.
Power back window..... Preach brother.... The struggle is real. I think the gladiator is mis-classed, I constantly line up with f-150s and best I can tell we're the same size, I might be a little taller. It's probably weight based, gladdy is mostly skinned in aluminum so it doesn't have as much ass to keep a trailer in check. And... You have to go up to f-250 before you start smelling solid axels..... Just sayingOk my fist jeep was a CJ, followed by a YJ then a TJ now a JT. As to modernization they have come WAY forward from where they were. As to vented seats I wouldn’t want it cause the mud that would plug them up would be a customer complaint nightmare so I can see why they don’t offer it. The only thing I would love is a power rear window I love the Gladiator but mine is a daily driver and side by side so way cheaper than two vehicles and a trailer. Just my 2 cents and it all comes down to how you use it
what Toyota Truck or SUV lets you drop its top or has solid axles?Rather than Jeep investing in a modern Gladiator, we get "Special Editions" and the promise of an antiquated V-8 all for an overpriced mid-sized truck. As badly as I would like to replace my Glad with a future Glad in a few years, I suspect I will struggle paying Jeep prices for an old truck. What a shame!! By the time we get an updated Gladiator, the just released, all new 4 Runner will have a mid-life refresh. How about that perspective?!?
I will add that fords are basic and I hate them with every fiber of my being. If forced into a choice between ford and anything else at all. I choose anything else.I'm just coming back to say once again that Toyotas are boring.
That is all.
The Gladiator is clearly a midsize truck. It's smaller and less capable than the F150. I agree that there isn't a substantial difference in overall length between the Gladiator and the F150, GM 1500, and Ram 1500, but when you start comparing the midsize trucks to 1/2-ton trucks, then you'll see why the Gladiator is classified correctly.I think the gladiator is mis-classed, I constantly line up with f-150s and best I can tell we're the same size, I might be a little taller.
Less capable at WHAT? The capabilities of a vehicle are less about what you see on paper as they are in suitability for use based on owner's needs. I have yet to see an F-150 that would be able to keep up with my Gladiator at what I'm asking it to do and the places I take it to. No shame on the F-150s, they are fine trucks. Just not the best to work for ME...The Gladiator is clearly a midsize truck. It's smaller and less capable than the F150. Less capable according to the SAE J2807 towing test. We're talking about classifications. The midsize segment is going to be less capable when comes to towing and payload capacities. This will put things into perspective:Less capable at WHAT?
Ahhhhhh, thanks for clarifying! Now I get your pointLess capable according to the SAE J2807 towing test. We're talking about classifications. The midsize segment is going to be less capable when comes to towing and payload capacities. This will put things into perspective:
mid-size
Jeep Gladiator - 7,700 lbs max towing
Ford Ranger - 7,500 lbs max towing
GMC Canyon - 7,700 lbs max towing
full-size
Ram 1500 - 12,750 lbs max towing
Ford F150 - 13,500 lbs max towing
GMC Sierra 1500 - 13,300 lbs max towing
Yes i agree and have been overated for years.I'm just coming back to say once again that Toyotas are boring.
That is all.
Pay AMW4x4 and have a midlife refresh with a V8 that should have come from the factory in these JTs.Rather than Jeep investing in a modern Gladiator, we get "Special Editions" and the promise of an antiquated V-8 all for an overpriced mid-sized truck.
