I know armorlite is expensive, but i think it's worth it.

Had OEM mats with my willys. bought husky x-act contours for my mojave (fitment was an issue there, got refunded) before deciding to drop the cash on armorlite. Was a little weary of the pricing at first, but when it arrived and I could feel it in my hands I understood why it's at the price point it's at, and it's worth it.

If you want to stay cheap, OEMs are plenty goood enough, but I think armorlite is worth the price of entry and then some.
Agree. In terms of mods, its the most expensive addition I’ve done but if you think about it, it’s the most used.

There’s also discounts out there. I think I paid $650

I personally don't like the Mopar mats due to the drain holes
My Mopar mats were included in my North Package, so they kind of took the decision out of my hands. At first I didn't like the drain holes, but I bought 2 factory plugs off amazon and plugged them that way, so nothing gets underneath. I can still pull the tub plug, drop the floor mat funnel into that hole, and then pull the drain in the mat itself. I removed the carpet square above the tub drain to help it sit a little more flat. Been two years and I'm still very pleased with the Mopar mats.

Or you could just drop the funnel into the tub, and use that plug to plug the mat, that's how they are designed, but I really didn't trust that to prevent seepage from underneath, that's how I ended up with the double plug scenario.

Anyone have opinions on getting the weather tech versus factory all weather floor mats/protectors?
I've had both. In My Opinion the Jeep AW mats stay flexible and are a more "rubberized" material. They also have the drain holes that line up with the factory drain holes and plugs. You remove the factory drain plugs from the floor and install them into the Jeep AW mats, which have a flange that push into and lock into the drain holes. My weathertech mats seemed to deform slightly over time in the sun and then cold her in the Northeast, taking on odd shapes over time. Very happy with my Jeep All weather mats 2 years/50,000 miles in on my '20 JT and did them on my wife's '21 JL.

Love 'em.

Winter I poured some hot water in the mat, swished it around a bit and pulled the plug to get rid of some of this salt and sand......

I have always bought weather tech, and did so in my JT and regret it. Have the Mopar in my JL and they are great, but the WT are deformed and curled up around the edges and no longer fit or cover the way they used too. The most egregious spot is the drivers mat bows in about 3” off the side molding making it rub against my shoe while driving.

I am jumping to armorlite as soon as budget allows.

I’ve had Weathertech in my wife’s Subaru and BMW and I don’t feel they’re worth what they charge. They’re too stiff and lose their shape over time, bowing in along the edges. They do a nice job of capturing slop, but I find them slick when they get wet.

I have the Mopar mats in my JL and my JT. Much nicer fit and appearance. Four years on the JL mats and they still look great. The material is different and isn’t slick like the Weathertech.

I've got the Jeep slush mats. I thought pulling the plugs and washing them out would be easy but too much dirt settles in the ridges of the topo map design. And the rim of the drain sits up just ever so slightly that all the water doesn't run all the way out. The missing area around the accelerator (safety issue, I get it) allows for a lot of mud to fall off on to the carpet and sometimes work its way behind the mat. Armorlite is in my future.

I’ve had no trouble cleaning the mopar mats. I just spray them off in the do-it-yourself car wash. They go from horrifying to clean easily. I can understand where the topographic design would make it tough without pressure though.

But the plug doesn't seep? The Mopar mat is designed just like the plug so it should seal the same as the plug. If you trust the plug, you should trust the mat.

I firmly agree.

Armorlite does offer a MIL and i think first responder discount (10%)

Were they a bitch to install........yup, but totally worth it.

Let me give you one more option.

Tuxmats.

They aren't as big as the big names, but for me they hit a sweet spot between the Jeep/weathertech and the armorlite.

TuxMats have enormous coverage. Much much more than anything other than ArmorLite. In fact about the only areas they don't cover are the carpets under the seats. Call it poor man's armorlite.

Actually, lazy man's armorlite is a better description since it takes only about 15 minutes to install them.

Its been almost a year and I'm still very happy.

Check out this thread. I ask someone about htem and he posts a few pics.

If you need more pics let me know and I'll post them.

I have Weathertech floor liners. For the most part they are good, but like others have commented, the edges are starting to curl up, especially in the back. I have two teenage boys that are in and out of the back multiple times a day. In my wife’s vehicle I used the new Weathertech HP Floorliner. It is MUCH nicer than the original. Has a more rubber feel to it, but still goes up the sides for protection and fluid retention. I will probably upgrade to those at some point.
