Im on the third injection pump
You are on your third HPFP? I would change where you fill up with fuel. Losing one pump is rare, but losing two or three pumps is unheard of.

Sounds like you are running your pumps dry! Not staying primed and or no lubrication in your fuel. Turbochargers need to be cooled down, before they are shut down! I have the original turbocharger still on my dodge Cummins, has 258k miles on it.

This is why I’ll never take my vehicles to the dealer. To much incompetence with simple tasks let alone more complex stuff..
I don’t even care about the warranty or free oil changes as they won’t be touching it.
A dealer did an oil change on a vehicle I purchased from them several years ago. Well I get home park it and the next morning find a puddle of oil in my garage and it all over the bottom of the car. First and last time letting them do anything.

Little lost in the verbiage. But Honestly, "don't take it to the dealer" is the right choice. Too many negligent and uneducated people don't diligent and important jobs these days.

I've had nothing but reliable service from my dealership. Swapped out one blown fuel pump and one for the recall. I haven't had any problems.

The dealer should be taking care of your issues on their dime. Especially anything they damaged. If you weren't so far away I'd say bring it up here. I've got no complaints about my dealership. They have a dedicated diesel mechanic. That's all he works on until he's got no more diesels to maintain.

If anyone has a pump with metal, the ENTIRE fuel system needs to be replaced, no exceptions. Anything less is the dealer doing their job wrong.
