Insane to already be on the 3rd box in this case. I had the steel one placed in under warranty at 20k miles, 30k miles already need another one and had to pay $106 with my max care warranty.

That is crazy. I have a '20 Mojave and still have the Aluminum one. I don't drift all over the road....at least I don't think I do. Maybe I should drive a new one off the lot to see what difference is. I am near 50k miles. Will they still do the replacement under the TSP?

It will be on your dime. The no cost replacements against the TSB were for those still under the 3/36K bump to bumper warranty.

I have the TSP box and it fixed my problem. But in hindsight I wonder if the primary fix is tightening that adjustment, which they probably did by default during the switch from aluminum to steel. There’s a YouTube video on how to do it in another one of these threads.

Those of you with aluminum boxes that never had any problem, your boxes may have been set with a proper tightness originally.

Hmm..Okay. I do have an extended warranty so I guess I should check with them if it may be covered of course with the deductible. Are there any aftermarket products that are made to remedy this or perform better?

The steel steering gear box was replaced after only 10,000 miles?
What happened? Was it merely beginning to wander?
Did they attempt to tighten the steering gear first?

I do not think there is a dealership level authorized procedure for tightening the steering gear.

Or liability since it is a bench adjustment when built.
This is probably the right answer as there are no specific torque settings for the adjustment screw. They’re probably all set to some 4 1/2 turns or whatever the number is by the manufacturer and tossed in the vehicle.
