I fish from my Hobie compass kayak most weekends. I got lucky hooking a bigger one. Reds are fun on light tackle.

Damn I am jealous. Dad and I would make the 5-6 hour drive 2-3 times a season from the time I was 13 until mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s when I was 20.

This is one of the only reason I would even consider Ft Drum.

Not today, but we did catch this on rod and reel (#12 hook and minnow). I swear, the water level dropped two inches when I pulled him out of the water...

Got turned on to the Mosquito Lagoon back in 2009 when it was miles of grass flats in gin clear water with hungry Redfish everywhere.
A lot of happy memories.
They're also fun on stout tackle:

Catching the tail end of the mullet run in Sebastian inlet for a couple hours yesterday. 1 Jack and these 2 schoolie snook.
Got picked up by what I think was a ray that took me into the outbound current and by the time I got it tied enough to bring in, the man in the grey suit paid it a visit and that was that.

This little guy was displaced from the St John's flood plain due to the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Water may have crested in Seminole county as of yesterday.

He was relocated to some higher ground.
