I decided to just go with it since I wanted to change the hinges anyway. Might as well personalize it while I’m doing stuff anyway. Got into color coordination like this with my Harleys and it kinda followed over. The rest of the mods I’ll be doing will be geared towards off road, but these were simple, quick, and easy to do early on.

It was a great weekend! I think we could have finished a lot faster if we hadn't jaw-jacked as much... but that was all part of the Jeeping thing, so the jaw-jacking was indeed necessary!

My shoulders are still a little sore from those front lower control arm bolts though... 190 ft/lbs... who came up with that... lol

The swaybar / rear brake line relocation brackets are to put swaybar in double shear. Shop couldn't get my truck in and back today, I have to be there at 0630 in morning. Working on building rear bump stops and should get gear oil change done.

That would make more sense... at the full droop we had it in, it was barely getting the lines snug, not tight by any means...

Hopefully the shop adjusters it to eliminate the tire wear from the right front tire.

Stage 1. LOD Black Ops shorty bumper install. Waiting on fog light bezels. Planning Zeon for the winch, not yet purchased. I did have a gripe, they sent "all required hardware" except the nuts were mismatched. The directions stated to use the 7/16 x 1 1/2 inch bolts with the provided 7/16-14 nuts but they included 1/2-13 nuts. I used the 1/2-13 nuts and upgraded to 1/2-13 bolts for the frame mounts since the holes were big enough.

FYI. When I went to put in my Badland 12K winch on my full width LoD bumper I ended up taking the bumper off three times to get the winch to fit without risking cutting the power wires just by driving the Jeep. While the winch would barely fit in, it left the wires pinched hard
against the bottom of the grill. As you can see, even now the fit for the wiring is really tight.

If I was smarter and not as lazy I could have switched the wires from where they're located to below the winch. For me it was much easier to just add longer bolts and install spacers to push out the bumper. You can see my spacers in the lower left corner.

I finished the 500 mile break in on my new engine this weekend. This week I'll change the oil, add another 400 miles of moderate freeway driving, and put the skids back on to get ready for off-roading on Heartbreak Ridge near Big Bear this Saturday the 17th.

This morning I used my last free Jeep Wave oil change and tire rotation to get my first oil change on my new engine at 600 miles. I was able to get an oil sample to send to the lab to analyze. I'll change that oil out at 5k and start using the Amsoil I bought but decided to wait until the next change.
Next is installing my new BulletPoint GoPro mount and re-installing my skid plates that I had to remove for the engine replacement.

Yesterday. So several months and just over 11,000 miles ago, I installed Ripp coil packs to get a few lost horsepower back at our home altitude of 8,600’. They gave better power, but 11k after they went in, I lost a coil on cylinder 1 last week and limped home with some misfires. It happened to cylinder 2 yesterday, a solid 1,000+ miles from home. My wife ubered to a Jeep dealer 8 miles away while I tore the top of the engine apart in an O’Reilly’s parking lot. I replaced all six with new mopar coils. It took about 3 hours with kids in the back seat. Ripp approved my full refund today. I wish I’d known about how many problems these have before I installed them. Oh well. Live and learn. It’s runs perfectly again and I did another 4-500 miles with a trailer today with zero issues.
