Rival4x4 used my Jeep to install a set of skid plates last night that they will be releasing for the Gladiator. Very happy with how they came out!

Trying to get the driver side motor mount out. It failed. Anyone do this yet? All bolts and nuts are out. That wasn’t bad with the fender off. But haven’t been able to lift the engine high enough to clear the post.

I haven't done one, but, there is a hex on top of that stud. There is a good chance they did that do you can unscrew the stud and get out of your way.

Heck, just unvelcro/unzip the windows. But that would be too easy, ya, they would cut the window or top.

I wish. I really wish. It’s an 8mm, but does not budge. Not on the new one either. @Hootbro found the service manual for this job and it didn’t mention that either. It’s finally done after three days on this. Nasty.

Put it back together. That was so much stuff to remove to do that job. Wow. I also rerouted a few wires since both front fenders were off. And sanded and painted a few rock gouges in various places on the frame and steering.

Did you have to jack up the transmission?

I removed the nuts that secure the tranny mount to the crossmember, but just lifted as close to the mounts as I could, only choosing a spot I didn’t think would break something. Ended up buying a taller bottle jack, and used wood blocks right behind the oil pan.

How did you actually blow that mount anyway. Was it a huge twist situation?

Beats the living shit out of me. I just noticed a bunch of ink like fluid all over my diff and LCA one day. After all the refresh stuff. Just good luck I guess. But it was trashed. I’m sure the motor wasn’t sitting right. It’s super loose in comparison to the new one.
