Mind mentioning the tire brand?
It's a Mickey Thompson tire. Looking back at photos from that trail run and a month later, the split happened at the time of the impact, I just didn't notice it until 2000+ miles later.

That's the impact, again later in the trail and then a month later when I swapped out damaged lug nuts. Actually impressed with the tire, as it would have gone longer if I hadn't noticed it. No loss of air or any handling issues.

I asked, because I personally have cut a Mickey sidewall, and talked to a few other guys who have as well. As much as I love the tires otherwise, I'm hesitant to buy another set when these wear down. My sidewall cut was on a month old tire, so that kind of sucks, especially as I don't run a spare and 42s are expensive 😂

Technically not my Jeep, but my wife's JLU. After being backed into 3x since we moved down here, found a great deal on a take-off and swapped in a good bumper again. We have a dash camera with 360° recording movement and impacts to catch the next time it happens. South Texas drivers seriously suck. Say hi to "Rosita the Chola"

I'm still on 35's so luckily can still fit a matching spare up underneath. I can't knock the tire, excellent traction. I've abused them a few times, and this happens.

This weekend was the first weekend that didn't threaten rain since I bought my Gladiator, so I decided to really give the Jeep a going over. I clay-bar'd the paint, then gave it a massage with the new Prime Day random orbital. I used Griots Best of Show wax, gotta say I like it. Then I put leather conditioner on the seats, then rubbed anything inside and out that was made of black plastic with Griots Vinyl and Rubber Dressing. Been using it for years, really enjoy the non-greasy, not wet shine that Armor-All and their ilk are famous for. It dries to a matte, but clean, finish. Even on the tires (I HATE shiny "wet" looking tires).

Earlier in the week I put some rubber door sills on, my Mother-in-Law is having a hard time climbing in. I posted that I ordered Rough Country Power Steps, but my wife put the kybosh on that; she asked me to wait...

Agreed, it ain't the cheapest, but I like the results. I console myself by saying, "How much did this Jeep cost ? A whole lot more than this stuff does." then I Add to Cart.

We think alike !! But I've been married for going on 35 years, been together 38. I flat-out asked her. She said, "No. It can wait. That's a "want", not a "need". We have a lot of other more important things to buy." And she's right.

Finished installing Armorlite flooring. Easier than I expected. I wish I had done this years ago.
This is on my list to do. Especially now that the snow is back.

The only thing I've really done lately is pulled the tent off and removed the drawers so I can start working on the new cap. I also tossed 3 of the OEM wheels/tires into the bed to try and get some weight back there again. So far the Toyos have done good since our first ice/snow storm, but the open rear diff leaves a bit to be desired so rear weight is definitely needed.
